Ok so... you get a pvp server... and you think "EQ has PvP?" nuh uh... sorry but EQ will never have PvP, atleast nothing worth playing for. Come to think of it that may be why your PvP servers/Boards are dead, PvP is crap in EQ. Anyway, if you are even thinking of trying/buying this game or it's pathetic sequel... please take some good advice and save the money for WoW.

wow pvp isnt challenging, way too easy. Iam returned on SeK
k so u dislike EQ's pvp,or EQ in general.thats fine....but do u really think your hating EQ/EQpvp has any meaning to the ppl on this forum?and why go to a forum for a certain game,where most of the ppl that read it are fans of that game,and flame on the game and tell them to go play another game?
Honestly, I preferred the no reward EQ
pvp (I played on Tallon Zek) to what is currently in WoW. That is to
say that when you pvp'd in EQ it actually meant something if you died
because most of the time the pvp was over who would be able to take
down the boss. It wasn't some pointless battlegrounds that people
just join to farm Honor Points. I probably would still be playing EQ
and not WoW if the game itself (not the pvp) hadn't gotten so
monotonous.

just some words from a former WoW player , yes i can only agree on WoW is a game for 12 year old kids , the PvP part is a big joke , PvE can be fun when its first time you are in a new Inst. this is so lame when you try thinking about how WoW works out , been played in endgame guild , we have 2-3 ppl there take care about all the reading about the next boss fight , what to how to do and ofc tell every ppl what to do and not , an addon to write with big letters on you´r scr when to move and so on , so what you doing is just like an robot , i remember my 3-4 year of playing Daoc , still the best PvP mmorpg there is out , but after nearly 4 year you get bored , this is not a whine post , i write this because i was laughing at those ppl there is trying to tell ppl to move there ass to WoW , for god sake let ppl try some new , and i rly dont see how EQ is worse the WoW in any way , yes i have write Daoc is the best PvP out here , but still i dont want to get back to the game , i want to try new stuff out and i dont want to be a robot , so for new players in EQ there is alot of nice stuff in this game , and only a few kids here , so dont save you money for WoW if you are more then 14 year old
Son, you have obviously not played the EverQuest end game where the men and women are separated from the boys and girls and where there is real depth, strategy and teamwork - or abysmal failure.
WoW was deliberately made simple to appeal to a broader audience such as yourself, who are best off playing a simple game. The pvp and endgame are tacked on afterthoughts in a lame attempt to create some sort of endgame but really, WoW is basically just fun for a few months of PvE and then when you hit cap you're done.
The exceptions here would be those who think its fun to farm honor endlessly or raid the same instances over and over farming gear to raid more boring instances over and over. These time sinks are undeniable proof there isn't much intelligent life to speak of in WoW beyond the level cap and that is why many players leave.
Being a simple and popular game losing players is not a problem for WoW as it continues to attract more casual players to replace the attrition. There's nothing wrong with this either - a simple game or casual players. But to compare WoW to a game like EQ and think it's superior is just a demonstration of utter ignorance.
When you are flagged and geared for every zone and particularly all of the endgame zones in EQ, come back and tell me its EverQueer and WoW roxxors, etc. See you in a few years...
As for pvp, there is real substantive pvp in Dark Age of Camelot that certainly beats farming honor points. It's also meaningful in the context of the game and its world, unlike with WoW unless you have no real life and farm your way to some delusion of "glory" etc.
Unfortunately, nobody in the real world cares if you are the best this or that on your server. Most people in the real world wouldn't even know what the heck you are talking about.
I greatly prefer a game with enough depth to keep me engaged and entertained for years vs months. I also prefer to play the game, stop and smell the roses along the way so to speak, spending time with others doing fun things and achieving things together vs farming status which I see as incredibly lame. Being number 1 at anything in today's MMO's is more often a sign of pathology than even remotely any kind of real achievement.

1) I didn't like PvP in Everquest for these reasons...
2) PvP wasn't rewarding because...
and if you must bring up another game as a comparison, do not use the "x>y" argument noted above.
1) PvP in Everquest wasn't as fun as WoW PvP because...
2) EQ's PvP lacked the ... that WoW's PvP/FFXI's PvP/DAOC's PVP has...
And lastly, dont use those ignorant addons I noted above. Those relate nothing about why or why not gameplay is bad/good/indifferent and are therefore a waste of time. Instead you should post a venting thread where people can go and gamebash all they want because its what the thread is for. This thread (with ignorant addon in the thread title) was for discussing the downsides to EQ's PvP. You jumped right into WoW>EQ without telling anyone what you didnt like about it. Good luck, I know you wont pay attention but perhaps you'll have better posts ahead!
lolo this child is funny as fuck. I know you are under 18 and I know your first mmo was GW, FFXI(which you quit quickly) or WoW. If you are saying WoW has good PvP you need to quit gaming. It has as much PvP as EVE has PvE. rofl god you are a mmo newb. A five year old can PvP effectively in WoW. Give him a well geared MS warrior and tell him to hit these buttons. PvP servers were decently populated, i dont know about anymore but they used to be so everything you said was wrong kid. EQ > WoW for PvE and isnt too far behind with PvP. If you would have said DAoC, EVE or L2 I would have been okay but lol a stupid kid thinking WoW has PvP worth playing lol. WoW kiddies and their damn rap metal music.
