Subbing questions

laddo27laddo27 Member Posts: 18

Just done the 14 day trial and really enjoyed it. I am looking to subscribe to Eve. What is the best option for subscribing to what I think is an excellent game. I have never felt the level of achievment I felt while playing Eve , some of the game is quite complicated but I love the challenge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you really think you're going to stick with the game long term, I'd go ahead and start off with a 3 month subscription. This will give you enough time to do one of three things:

    - Earn enough isk to start playing for gametime with plexes, or

    - Realize you do in fact want to play the game long term, and therefore can upgrade to a 6 month or 12 month subscription, or

    - Realize you don't want to play the game, and quit.

You can do this with a 1 month sub, but it will just cost you a little more cash, while saving you cash if you quit earlier.

Some people play the game for years, some quit after a couple of months. I wouldn't sub to 6 months or longer until you know which one you will probably be.

Thankyou for the reply, I have seen a 60 day time card on offgamers is this a valid way to subscribe to the game seeing im a trial member at the mo. In other words will it upgrade my account to a full account and also add my 60 days to the trial account, thankyou

After I did EVE's 14 day trial I subscribed for 6 months. I played non-stop for a month in high-sec, another month or so in low sec and I was about to head to 0.0 when I realised it wasn't all that fun anymore. I quit with over three months subscription left. So yeah do a short subscription before taking out a longer one.

    @ OP:

Yes, a 60-day time card will change your account to a full account.  Your other options are to subscribe through the website which allows from Credit/Debit card, Paypal or a Web Transfer.  I've been playing EVE off and on for over 4 years now and I've only ever used the 30-day option via their website.  Sure I've spent more but with the number of times I've felt like taking a break for a month or three I don't feel that I've lost money.  Welcome to EVE, enjoy your stay and start looking for a Player Run Corporation if you have not found one already.

It took me about 4months until i could solo L3's and L4's.. And another month until i could fit a BS with T2's (besides T2 guns.) I think once you can fly a BS you can pretty much go and do anything in EvE; or atleast that was the point where i stopped doing Missions and started exploreing and pvping.. But my SP is spread all over so im sure you can shorten that time by a lot if you just focused on one thing and get it to T2 (like T2 frigs wouldn't take that long to train into.) Hardest part for me is scrapeing the isk together to support my pvp habits, especially when i'am always war dec'd and its hard to run missions that way.

But when i first tried EvE i subbed for the 3month thing and was all gungho the first 2 months but by the 3rd i was getting a little bored and only logged in to que up skills.. So now i always just go 1 month because i find by the end of that month i'am ready to take another break from EvE, sometimes that break is only a few days sometimes its a month.. But in the end i always sub back because EvE is just an awsome MMORPG and one of the only MMO's you can play, unsub, and come back to and just pick up where you left off..

I've never heard of offgamers. I don't know if I'd trust a 3rd party website like that.

Are you referring to the 3rd party website the OP was asking about, or to buying a 60d card through CCP? Big difference.

If your going to buy a 60 day gametime card, then only buy one from the recommended ETC retailers that you can find links to, on the official Eve website, there are a number of scammers about so be careful who you try to buy from image

Yes, sorry.  As stated above I would recommend only buying your time through the EVE website.  Either through their links to recommended ETC vendors or directly through their website using the options I mentioned.  My apologies for not clarifying that.

Alas, I haven't subscribed since 2009. Every now and then I get the urge to jump back in... but I have managed to resist so far!
