I've played on both sides, and I really like the Guardian areas (Silverwood and Gloamwood) compared with the Defiant ones. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go Guardian.
After my 3 days of fun ill be going defiant. one i love the name defiant and i liked the starting area more then the guardian side.
Just a side note: had a blast this weekend, even if most of the major rift invasions werent dealt with. still hoping to complete one so i can get some epic gear pre 20s.
Are there any significant differences between the two?
Two things: 1. is the Story element of the game; 2. are the Racial bonuses, which many players are blowing completely out of proportion...
Well, I can say this:
The sprint that the Defiant "humans" have is FAR more useful than the wing manuever the "elven" guardians have. Having only created 2 characters, that's about all I can say.
Going Guardian altough I'm not very into their dogmatic point of view... but they have Dwarfs:P and cause Defiant race Kelari, are damn ugly... looks like the breading of an elf and some wierd fish

guardian seems like they have this " holier than thou " attitude, whereas defiant is moe towards protecting the world
so i choose defiant
