Does this mean that if Im playing city of Villains, I wont be able to fight other people in City of Heroes? I mean, will we be able to PVP each other, villains vs heroes?
i play on australian servers because racism is acceptable there

Good question...I want to know too.
It IS seperate, meaning you won't NEED CoH to play CoV.
However, they ARE connected. Meaning if you have both CoH and CoV you will be able to experience both worlds and your villians will be able to fight with Heroes and vice versa. So it isn't a true expansion, but the two worlds do indeed interact with each other if you have both games
So what if you have CoH and your buddy has CoV. Will you two be on the same server, but on opposing sides? It seems stupid if they are not "connected" such that the world servers are shared. The video for CoV strongly implies that villains will fight heroes from CoH.
yeah they'd be on the same server. But if they both didnt have CoH and CoV then they would never run into eachother. They would both need both games - and then they could duke it out.
That seems completely confusing. How do they keep everything consistent. What if you are duo'ing with someone who has both and you don't, and he sees someone from CoV.
Buddy: "Halt, I see Dr. Malious coming down the street"
You: "Huh, I don't see anything"
Buddy: "He's shooting a rocket, RUN"
You: "Huh, what are you talking about. Are you on acid"
Buddy: (big explosion and he dies on his screen)
You: (you see your buddy fall over dead for no apparent reason)

? How in Zeus's butthole does that work? I only ask (and stay persistent) because I really want to try this game, but unless this topic is fleshed out I don't want to buy it. I don't want to fork out $15 a month to pay for someone else's content that I can't even access.
You DO NOT NEED CoH to see or interact with heroes. The only reason you need both is in order to actually go into the main areas oc CoH. There will be zones that both game users can go into, and that is where they meet up. IF you have both games, then your super group can build a headcorter and I believe you'll need both in order to go into these headcourters.
So basicly Both= more areas you can go into, Super Group Hall, and more playing options
One or the Other= many seperate zones but a few zones that you CAN interact in, such as PvP or go into a Villain's layer, etc.

Hmm, I wasn't too clear in my first post. There will essentially be two seperate "worlds" for CoH and CoV, however, there will be overlapping zones where Heroe's and Villians clash. See, CoV will have it's own areas that are completley seperate than CoV for a PvE experience. From what they say the PvE will be just as extensive as it is in CoH. Then there are also certain zones and missions in these zones where Hero's and Villians will meet and fight with opposing mission objectives and what not. Also, some features of CoV will cary over to your CoH if you have one such as the Hedquaters building.
So, if you have CoV and your friend has CoH, yes you can battle and fight with him in special zones that overlap into both worlds.
What I was trying to say above was that if you have both, you'll be able to make and play both Hero's and Villians and get some of the fetures from CoV in CoH. But CoH is NOT a requirement for CoV.
I got a question ok i have coh if i buy cov would i have to have 2 accounts to play coh/cov or use 1 account and play only 15 bucks a month or pay 30 bucks amonth for coh/cov
thanks in advance

From what I've heard devs say, it will be $15 to $20 a month for both.
If you Have just CoH, then you will beable to play as a Hero and have all the CoH content. You will NOT beble to interact with the People from CoV.
If you have just CoV, you will beable to play a Villian with all of the CoV content. You will NOT beable to interact with people from CoH.
Now... if you have both. You will beable to Play as a hero or as a villian AND you will be able to ebter the special zones for the people who have both Coh and CoV. I believe these zones are for Headquarters/Lairs and for PvP(which consists of Heroes vs Villians only). CoV will have arena's if you want to fight other villians

You are correct. My good friend asked Statesman face to face what COV will cost. It will be 4.95 extra a month to have both, so 19.95 a month.
If you have more than one account like some members of my super group this is where the extra 4.95 is going to pile on.
I am not afraid....I was born to do this:- Joan of Arc

Not to belittle your friend, or question his word...but I will. That information has not been publically released, so I find it damn near impossible to believe that this friend of yours coerced that from Statesman. The closest thing we have as a quote from the company is "none to very little" additional cost to maintain both games.
Sorry to piss on your fire.
I can understand that it is hard to believe, but I do trust my friends story. True that no official word has come out yet, but when Statesman is at Wizardworld Boston in October I will ask him as well. It is a known fact that Jack loves his fans and has from time to time given fans some inside info about COH.
It is just too bad that you had to find an immature way to get your point across. It is so sad to see that someone must resort to flaming to get their "Rocks Off" while typing away in front of their monitor, probabally giggling like a chimp the whole time they type it. Hope you grow up soon.
You thought that was FLAMING?
That was actually quite a mature answer (apart from the urination). But you sure know how to deal with someone who attempts to continue a discussion. Well done for your self belief. Make sure that no-one else convinces you that you are wrong by making a valid point. Ever!
definition of sarcasm:
1. A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound.
2. A form of wit that is marked by the use of sarcastic language and is intended to make its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.
Sarcasm is not welcome on most public forum boards and is a direct attack on another person with the sole intention of hurting them.
As for this CoV topic, I'm surprised it's still going. Who knows what it will cost. I do think it's good planning to speculate the cost, but be prepared for it to be changed by NCSoft if needed.
