    it wouldn't be hard to convey and interpret this information digitally either -- in a bandwidth and computational friendly manner I mean

    Good idea! But it would have the opposite effect. At least for me, I'd love to play a limping hunchbacked mage with just one eye and two hairs (one of which is quite long and coming from his nose with a nice bit of snot attached to the end of it).
