People will get over it, they are still not wanting to admit to themselves that they hyped this POS and now have invested their time in it as well plus it's free monthly. That's the gaff, the free monthly - I think that is the biggest reason that this game is so hyped. It's pretty boring and requires no actual skills to play, other than knowing how to generically work a computer.
You sold the hype, bought the hype and now you have to eat the hype.... Just face it, you were wrong, it happens....

I can't even count how many times you've said that GW sux.
You flame my english skills while you have problems spelling your own words; you double posts; you can not count; and you're enjoying to discuss with a 6 year old kid....
May I ask if you're a fan of Michael Jackson, and if "comback" is a filthy ghetto word or something you say only in your family?
Well, a signature with "Proud to be a Guild Wars player" says it all...
How lame
1) The double post was not intentional
2) I'm not "enjoying" anything about the forums nor am I hating it. Whoever enjoys doing this needs to get out more often.**cough cough** like you chrisel **cough cough**.
3) Saying I can't count how many posts you put up saying you hate this game is just saying that you posted so many threads saying "I hate guild wars" that I don't even want to count them.
4) And WTF do you mean by "May I ask if you're a fan of Micheal Jackson, and if "comback" is a filthy ghetto word or something you say in your family?" A "comback" is something everyone uses, but wait, I forgot you can't get out enough cause you're too busy trollin these boards,I'm sorry I forgot losers had feelings to. How lame.
5) And my sig "Proud to be a Guild Wars player" does say it all. It says I'm proud to play guild wars because tards like you aren't ruining my game.(I gaurentee someone that fanboi chrisel's ganna say "It's already ruined without me")

Guild Wars gets as boring as any other mmorpg... no wait, it gets far less boring than every other mmorpg. How ignorant can you possibly be to say that spending 30-50 hours getting from lvl 1-20 while playing through an actual storyline is more boring than spending hundreds or thousands of hours farming spawns over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again?
True, anybody can pick up and play GW. That's not a bad thing though. However, while saying that it requires no skill (or at least little skill) may be true, to be any good at GW requires a great deal of skill, teamwork and 8 good builds.

Actually alot of people are having fun with the game, and it's been the top selling PC game everywhere it's been released since the day it came out.. the professional reviews are high, and this isn't the only site with high user ratings... Not everyone likes every game, but when so many players are rating something highly isn't there a possibility it might not be a POS as you described it?
Just a thought...maybe you were wrong? Let me guess.. you're right, and you don't even need to play the actual game to know everything about it, maybe you tried a beta weekend at best. If that's the case then you are certainly less than pathetic to come around bashing a game simply because it outrates your favorite game.

At 4: If you cant understand that, you really should see a shrink. Reading your other following posts just proves whats quite obvious...

Regarding rest of the sexual harassment in your triple post: You are loosing the grip man. You talk too much crap about "moms & dads & kids". I hope for the sake of the world youre sterile, and never will get any kids. Fyi, inbreeding is illegal!

Okay...
The thing is (for myself) I don't regret the time I've put into playing GW. I'm still having fun with it. When it's no longer fun for me, I'll move on to another game, having no regrets about the time I spent playing. So what's the big deal? It's just a game.
Why can't people accept that there are people who enjoy GW for what it is? So you don't like and others do. Big deal. Don't be a hater.

He didn't say you are ruining his game ... he said he's thankful you're not.
Geez...how about taking the time to actually read what someone posts before coming on here and making yourself sound like an idiot.
What you must understand first is that gw isnt an mmorpg. It is a competitive online rpg(corpg). As such, it lacks many features that most mmorpg have. It definetely lacks the depth of an mmorpg. The instanced zones, the lack of crafting, housing, marketplace, etc are things that you get to expect from an mmorpg and that enable you to get immersed inside the game. Could gw be more immersive/better? Yes it could(a market place, more guild customization, more items, etc). But thats what xpacs are for. Is this lack of features hinder gameplay and/or fun? No it does not.
Also it doesnt have the lvl nor the item grinding that mmorpg have. You can only get up to lvl20 and drops are pretty average so that they can keep pvp balanced. This isnt an alternative life. And most people who are playing mmorpgs are just junkies looking for an alternative universe in which they can immerse themselves for 10-20 hours a day. Gw isnt that thing, you shouldnt expect this from gw otherwise you will be greatly dissapointed. If you want your drug dose, go play an mmorpg.
Now what does gw have to offer? First of all let me say that the start is absolutely awful. Newbie world probably shows all the negative things about gw and even after you come to the real world, things look pretty ugly. The game really starts when you get at least to the desert.
When you get there, most ppl actually know how to play the game. They are usually more organised, they obbey orders(sometimes) and generally its harder(not impossible though) to get some idiot who just rushes in and lures a trillion mobs at the same time. Groups are also pretty big and pvp arenas are more fun. And what is even better is that missions require a pretty good degree of skill and cooperation. You will fail many times but you will eventually learn how to play the game.
Pve on gw actually prepares you for pvp. The mobs are smart. They dont go for the tank, they go for the healer/spellcaster. They also aim for the weakests in the group. You will have to learn how to lure, how to block, how to concetrate fire, how to call targets, when to move, when to stop and when to wait. Stupid ppl will always exist and 1 mistake can be the end but you will eventually get a group of ppl who are on par with you and you will finish that mission. And when you do, you will feel like you accomplished something. Not because you wasted x ammount of time but cause it took some skill to finish the mission.
The thing that makes gw superior to all mmorpg, is the battle system. The insane variety of tactics and strategy involved and the interface. And you can see this system work even in pve. When you eventually master this game to a certain degree and you are a part of a good team, you will see what gw is about. This game rewards efficient playing like no other game in the market. There will be many times where you would lose from the first mob cause of some stupid mistake. But you will eventually learn how to play the game. And when you do, you will have the beatiful world of pvp to enjoy.
So yes its less immersive than mmorpgs. But lets see what mmorpgs are. They are really crappy games that use archetypes(lvl grinding, character evolution) to keep you slaved and play them 24/7. It is just mindless clicking with little thinking or skill. He(or she) who plays the most is the most efficient in game player, regadless of skill. Seriously, most mmorpg players are hardcode mmorpg players. Why? Not because the game is good, but cause the game mechanics are so addictive(of course we could start talking about what makes a game good, but lets not go there).
Its like a junkie addicted to heroine(aka mmorpg) that drinks a glass of the finest wine of 1963(aka gw) and says Damn this thing sucks. Heroine is better. Well guess what, gw isnt heroine. If you are looking for heroine or some other drug substitute, this isnt your thing. This game needs skill, imagination, cooperation, discipline and organisation.
So decide what you want from gw. And if you want what I descibed, get a good guild, play the game a bit more and see what the real gw is about.
PS ArenaNet will release more content for free soon. 2 new areas(there is a video too). PS2 And yes gw is overhyped. But it is definetely wayyyy 1less overhyped than wow/eq. PS3 You can still play gw 24/7, once you get into pvp.
I've played GW for almost a month now and i've played a few other MMO's and I think they both have something to offer. I really think some people on this message board have made some really nice points but there is one that keeps coming up that I think isn't completely true from my point of view.
Everyone keeps saying that GW is different from other MMO's because you don't have to play it for 10 hours a day for many many weeks in order to have fun playing it, and that GW is more for "casual" players. I think I'm a casual player and I don't feel that way at all! I play maybe 5-8 hours a week and I really enjoy traditional MMO's like EQ and WOW and CoH more than I like GW.
if you want a grind and to only be involved in lvling up this game isnt for you......if you want high intensity, skill using PvP action, then keep on playing.....but if roleplaying is your thing....GW is not your cup of tea
