General: The Best Medicine

The old saying is that laughter is the best medicine for a "sucktacular" day. But The Rant wouldn't be The Rant if Adam Janovyak agreed. Adam's had one helluva day so read The Rant to make your day seem even better. Be sure to let us know about your epic bad days and how you deal with them in the comments below.

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seems to go right? It can happen to anyone at any time really. It just seems to happen more in the winter time. It probably has something to do with all the gray skies and the fact that just stepping outside is a very special kind of torture. I think that the worst part of having a sucktacular day is how unavoidable it seems to be and how very quickly it seems to all spiral out of control. All of the crap builds and builds, stacking the crap on top of more crap until you have built yourself into a very smelly prison cell. I have recently been blessed with one such day, stink walls and all. So, sit right back dear reader and I shall tell you a tale. A tale of my awful day and the redemption I found at the end of it.

Brilliant post, i laughed my ass off reading it and i do agree sometimes it is the best medicine.

Laughter is not the best medicine. It is only part of it. The best medicine, in reality, is Slaughter.

Well, "Laughter is (and always will be) the Best Medicine", but you didn't need "medicine".  What you needed was a release for the stress you felt from being required to be nice to those who are not nice to you.  The two are completely different things.

    I liked the shark picture.

Wow this article is basically a justification for griefing people in PvP...

I do it because it makes ME feel good. What it does to others, or the game as a whole, I dont give a damn...

Speaking of being an Internet Ahole, but don't you mean afterwards, at the end, or is that a subtle pun?

  • IronfungusIronfungus Member Posts: 519

It pretty much still is laughter.

PvP Is great medicine for an enraged soul it's like an enima for stress, it's not pretty getting the shit out but it is effective.

Its a figure of speech. lol He saying laughter is the cure for a bad day x)

So he beat some people in PvP. What's the big deal?

Its not like he became a griefer, is it?

    Is it...?

  • DwarvishDwarvish Member Posts: 208

When this happens just think of how BAD a day can get...see shark picture.  Its not that bad...stay home and go back to bed and feel sorry for yourself, Ambrose and the guy who didn't know he was breakfast for a ahark..who, by the way, didn't miss a breakfast and was most likely still in the mood to hurt something.

Laughter is not a cure when you aren't in the mood...its irritating!

Different strokes for different folks.  Taking a bad day out on others just is the wrong way imo.

I think I would feel worse rather than better doing it your way.

  • reanorreanor Member UncommonPosts: 441

Oh, so people behind PvP are just assholes that you can blow your steam off at, right? You can cuss them and say all kind of trash only because they are somewhere else in the world and you care less. Of course, it is a good way to make yourself an Internet Asshole.

Boy, you don't KNOW what a hard day is.  Get control of yourself.  'Nuff said.

Interesting read but one of the reasons I don't care for PvP. The more PvP is centered in an MMO the closer I get to finding another place to play. I am curious what you feel you contributed to DCUO? Real life criminals have the same attitude...just saying.

Ok, yeah, whatevers works for you man. Glad yer not on my team, oh no wait, I don't have a team. Probably because I won't put up with that.

    Godspeed my fellow gamer

Assuming FPS's are considered PvP, CoD used to be a friend of mines way of relieving stress of school/family/work.

Im glad you found a cure. :)

Cheers to better days at work.

Nice. Maybe you should read some of the other blogs here:

"So I'm asking you all, in both real life and in our virtual lives... be kind to people.  Even if you're not at fault for an accident.  Be kind.  If you see someone in need of assistance on the side of a road, check if they're okay.  If you see someone in your game of choice about to bite the dust during an encounter maybe lend a hand.

Sure it doesn't always pay dividends for you, but kindness goes a lot further than you might think."

Honestly mate, learn some stress-management that doesn't involve ruining my day in DCUO. Cheers.
