Paragon Studios and NCSoft have announced that the Animal Pack will be arriving soon for City of Heroes players. The downloadable content features sixty new costume parts and patterns, six new emotes, two new auras, and the "beast run" travel power.

Unleash the savage beast you've always wanted with OVER 60 new costume parts and patterns! Prowl the streets of Paragon City as a ferocious cheetah, stalk your way through the Rogue Isles as a bestial wolf, soar the skies of Praetoria as an eagle or lumber your way around as a monstrous minotaur. With new customizable heads, details, patterns, legs, and tails, you can go wild with possibilities!

The Animal Booster also includes new emotes, new auras, four costume change emotes, and the Beast Run travel power, which will let your animal alter ego leap and bound through City of Heroes on all fours!

I do not remember CoX looking as bad as it did in that trailer...the graphics were atrocious.

edit:  I'm tempted to resub just to see the graphics again, because I seriously do not remember them looking as bad as they did in that trailer.

edit2:  GF walked by and I asked her to look at the trailer.  She had watched me play CoX and did not remember the graphics looking like they did in that trailer.

I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

Is there enough of a userbase to even warrant the dev cycles on this?

Sad to say VD... that is how bad they looked... But it does not look like they are at the highest settings in that trailer, so you have a point in that.

They do. No need to resub to see for yourself though, just sign up for the 7 day free trial like I did recently.

Of course it has a large enough userbase.

Who do you think is paying the salaries of the developers making the content packs?

[Mod Edit to remove off-topic quote] I thought the graphics looked about standard for average game settings (Ultra-mode definitely wasn't turned on). What may be causing the difference you feel is that there is a rather annoying filter that's placed over the screen throughout the entirety of the video. It's pretty easy to see between transitions.

If they included a dragon look, then I know at least one person that would be playing for life.

One of my friends first question when asked about moving to a new game is... "can I play a dragon!".

Naturally, her favourite game that she keeps going back to is Horizons.

I’m sure there would be many others that would try COX if they knew they could look like a dragon.

They should seriously thinking about doing a dragon pack next (could even limit it to a couple of power sets if need be).

These are "paid" bundled item packs...

But at this point, the game's development has been all paid up for a long time... and with these paid items people purchase plus the cost of their monthly sub, which is the same price as any premium MMO.... I'd say they are really milking it

Personally though I am not going back. I loved the game but I can't see myself ever convincing my friends or my guild to head over there.

They need to get to work on CoX2

Thanks for giving me yet another reason of why i shouldn't renew my subscription.

I can't believe that i wasted my money on those first couple of Booster Packs. There i was thinking that by buying one or two of those booster packs we'd be guaranteed to get more substantial updates in the future but they continue to take advantage of their loyal user base with this crap. If i wanted to pay for content through micro transactions, i'd go play Champions Online. Instead milking us with Booster Packs, how about fixing your servers which seem go to shit every time more than 13 people join a server? NcSoft needs to pull its head out of its ass if they want to compete with DCUO and Champions Online.
