But i think they sould maby come out with weapons and updates and stuff for real money.

maintenance isnt as needed on this game because everything is instanced.....i'm pretty sure arenanet knows what they are doing.....they are the brightest minds that left Blizzard after all
My answer is NO, I don't want to pay fees every month ... But here comes the question, what is better for them ? To pay every month so many people, or to make new quests, new areas and e.t. for free ? I think that sooner or later there will come the fees, after 6 months, after an year ... Like everyone else is saying, i like GW the way it is. I like it free and thats what makes it even more fun. Not having to worry about paying for it every month allows me to relax and go play with my guild and do missions. Im very happy with GW the way it is and i hope it NEVER changes.

More content IS being developed and you will need to pay for the "Chapter" (expansion) in order to play the new content. That is how they plan to make money with GW.

This is "not" a new thing going with free mmorpgs, all the past ones are amazingly successful and still running for how long they've been going. RUNESCAPE for example, you hate it, why do you play it and why is it still there with the amount of money they have?
Also, I don't think you understand the statement the internet is free. That's because it is, and ISPs are selling you the support, extras that you don't need or want, and the line. No way should anyone need to pay for internet, it is only corperate greed.
You should see the other MMORPGs, this one will actually turn out more money then any other. For one, it is more expensive to actually buy it then most others, and let me take an example... DAoC, requires you to pay FIFTY DOLLARS to TRANSFER a character from account to account, IS THAT GREED OR WHAT!?
There is no necessary rule to have a monthly price, bottom line is, that monthly price is meant to brain wash the market, and here Guild Wars is to cleanse it.
Also if you think about if A lineage game is sold about five guild war games wil also be bought so a good selling rate will keep them alive for quite a while.

I think you don't understand the business model they are using for this game even though many games used it before the arrival of subscription based models.
You buy the base game and that gives you access to their online servers. They will release expansions with added content and if you like them, you'll be free to buy them. That means you can actualy pay for more content ! Isn't that sweet ?
Back to your question. Why do you ever care about paying a monthly fee ? That's really a strange mentality. It seems like you feel bad about it. Like I wrote in my last post, if you need to pay to feel better, contact me privatly and I'll give you info on how you can make a montly payment in my bank account. I'm doing this to help you. You'll be able to tell all your friends that you're playing a REAL mmorpg now that you'll be paying a monthly fee.

If you are talking about satisfaction, the buyer (you would think) to have researched the game or have tried beta to buy a 50$ game... BTW paying money will bring more fun to the game? Monthly fees are a scam! i dont need to pay them 15 dollars a month to update a game when i palyed them 50$ plus 30-40 more for a f*ckin expansion! This was the stupidest thing ive heard and wouldn't be suprised if you worked for Npcube. What has this gaming world become when people are begging for monthly fees! I'd say Blizzard, SOE, and mythic have you and the rest brainwashed into thinking they need a constant stream of money to make games worse as time goes on. God help us!

all other mmo's = Buy game 50-60$ + monthly fees 15$ + expansions 30-40 $.........
not a big difference except the monthly fees are the scam and expansions are worth the money..... i'm in shock people actually think monthly fees are a good thing? Lokk at all the MMO's that charge money monthly... they all get worse or create more problems as time goes on. There isnt one MMO currently that is getting dramatically better with subscriptions rolling in each month. You want to pay the devs for creating new content that actually makes the game worse or unbalanced? Why!

everquest/ wow/ swg - monthly fees, lag, bugs, boring
guild war - no monthly fees, no lag, no bugs (no major ones anyway) and it's fun!!
