2036 Asteroid Apocalypse?

Well, I wont have to worry, I will be dead by then, but you young ones.... Oh boy
If that whole end-of-the-world thing doesn't work out next year, maybe the jig is up in 2036: Scientists are now saying that's the year an asteroid previously thought harmless (after having been deemed catastrophic before that) might just plow into the Earth.

You have a 1/6250 chance of being struck by lightning during your lifetime.
So your chances of being struck by lightning are 40 times greater than that of this asteroid hitting earth.
i think there's an even greater chance for a zombie apocalypse.
One in 250,000? I'll take some of that action. I plan to put $100 down on it hitting the earth in 2036. Just think how rich I'll be if it pays off. Come on Apophis!

Imagine how rich you will be when you win the bet.^^ But seriously, it still 25 years from now that this catastrophic phenomenon will indeed happen. We shouldn't be focusing our selves on things like this because we have more important things to do. If this is true, and so it be, we can't do nothing about it, this is inevitable. But my point is, many people already said that next year is gonna be the final year of mankind, but still it was proven wrong by some scientist who said that the calculations that proved that the end of the world would be next year was a miscalculation based on the evidences of the mayan calendar.
Before there was 2012, now its 2036. I wonder if moviemakers will be producing a film withm 2036 as its title? why is there always stories of global destructions like this? Many people are believing this stories of crap. If all the stories where true, then earth might not be existing anymore in the galaxy. Why don't just we focus ourselves in the present and do everything right.

seriously, by that time im sure the human race had already developed something to counter this threat (or any similar threats)
like a rocket full of asteroid eating zombies!
1) First we have wayyyyy too many scientist on the payroll. NASA has to go, too many financial problems and we need to cut back, so we should start with them.
Think about this :
a) If they are honest with us on the information given to us then space travel is too far off.
b) If their not honest and they have all kind of stuff going on in space, then it's not beneficial to the common person ( Space station's are for the rich ).
2) The history channel is a TV show. I'm temporally stationed in Germany, and the Europeans are not concerned.
3) Things seem to be going bad for the human race.........Well let me tell you that it's really only the United States. Because of greed, America is falling apart.
4) World problem's :
a) it's been happening all along, it's our news that is magnifying it. ( remember, the news is really just a TV show )
b) Sorry to sound cold, but Hay...You would have this with 6 Billion people on the planet.
