So sad I won't be able to get more music for my guitar hero. I bump into this news.
Activision has shared in it’s 2010 Fiscal year report that they will discontinue the Guitar Hero franchise and will disband Activision Publishing’s Guitar Hero business unit which means they will discontinue development on the Guitar Hero Franchise for 2011.
There has been no clear indication of what will happen with this move aside from the disbanding of the Guitar Hero team. I cannot really give an actual number of how many people would have to go but according to G4TV’s Stephen Johnson, about 500 employees would have to go. Also according to the post DJ Hero would also have to go.
As for the DLCs for the game, according to Dan Amrich, the company will only release this month’s promised DLC before the book is closed for the franchise.
Is this the first nail on the coffin for the Music game genre? Who knows, but it’s sad in my part to see a franchise like this finally kicking the bucket. Even if I was only able to briefly play the game (and most of the songs were alien to me) I enjoyed my time playing Guitar Hero both on the arcade and on my friend’s consoles.
So here’s to the Guitar Hero franchise- it was a fun ride but it had to end.

Aw damn... no more music to get. They really get a lot of money to stop the development of the game.
