Besides EVE, where can I go? I'd like a fairly decent population so that world PVP is at least semi-frequent, but I'm not crossing my fingers...

    You should give Monday Night Combat a try, it's not a RPG though, but is a thirdperson shooter (not a FPS lol :P)...it's got some TF2 elements like  special classes, but the game mechanics are completely different.

    I know it's probably not exactly what you are looking for, but eh, figured I'd throw it out there. Very addicting gameplay! only 15$ on steam too. It's got me hooked until D3 comes out lol, or TERA/GW2 which ever is first.
