Not sure how anyone could have missed this epic hype train yesterday but I didn't see any posts about it, so I figured I'd make sure that noone here missed it. Because frankly, no matter how sick you think it is, it's one of the best game trailers in the sense of pure marketing that I've seen in a long time... It's estimated to have gotten over 5,000,000 views on it in the first 24 hours because of the controversy. Please be warned, it is convtroversial for a reason, though it is on YouTube, it still can be hard to watch for some...

Yeah, I watched it yesterday. It really blew me away. First ever Zombie computer game footage I have seen that really portrays the true horror of a zombie apocalypse. Any fan of Zombie games or films that has not seen it yet should really give it a watch.
My favorite YouTube comment was, "People are offended, but if there was a REAL zombie apocalypse this could happen."
I have no interest in this game, personally because I'm just not into Zombie stuff.
As much as so many people are really losing their minds about the trailer and saying how sick it is, it's brilliant marketing. Literally millions of people have this game on their radar right now and are checking it out...

Its a well done trailer. People should be praising it not condeming it.
yeah, this video has probably been the center of talking points in the recent weeks
for me, the Trailer is excellent, it's fresh, and it's different from the rest of the typical Zombie Trailer
but too bad i am not the fans of a Zombie game, so i'll pass, although i would love to see the review of this game later
So What Now?
I was really impressed on how they mixed the trailer with emotion, really good marketing stunt
it may have caused controversies but it really made an impact, I also hoped that this will be a good game
I've been hearing that it will offer 4 player co-op (similar to left 4 dead) but in this case they will also add rpg elements (character development etc.)
great trailer. I am a zombie man myself World War Z, Shawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead and the Walking Dead are some of my favorite things.
I never really play zombie games though as its always just purely about the killing which is boring to me. I like my zombie stuff with some depth. ... and this trailer delivers
Playing: PO, EVE
Waiting for: WoD
Favourite MMOs: VG, EVE, FE and DDO
Any person who expresses rage and loathing for an MMO is preposterous. He or she is like a person who has put on full armor and attacked a hot fudge sundae.
I agree, its one of the best.. if not the best trailer I have ever seen.. for a game or movie.
Remember Old School Ultima Online
heu what i s that a single player game ? with zombie , zombie game are old already there to much zombie stuff on the market its not even funny .... boring ...
.... is'nt ?
It really filled me with dread after watching it, I watched it a few times back to back so I could get all the little details. I really hope the game is half as good as that trailer was.
Definitely a great trailer, looking forward to hearing more about this game.
I love me some serious zombie horror. Not a fan of zombie action shooters or zombie humor.
Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!
That was powerful. Probably will cause a lot of discussion and more calls for regulation.
it makes me want to check out the game. . just because the trailer is so great. Somewhat distrubing but hardly something to get freaked out about. . I will show it to my wife and see what she thinks. . she will be so mad at me
Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!
Can´t see what´s so controversial about it. It´s just a pretty nicely done horror scene, played backwards, rendered in 3D. Horror games are a genre, just like horror movies and books are. What´s the big deal?
My brand new bloggity blog.
great cinematography. nothing controversial about it. ima let u finish but 28 days/weeks later were the best zombie movies ever made, and families dying/killing each other isnt a new concept. it taps into our deepest fears: being alone, having no society and dying as a result.
Hmm another zomie apocolipse except with a monthly fee. Nothing contreversial about that.
I could understand the negative reaction of some if the trailer had been designed to make light of the subject matter. That's something common to the whole zombie genre. This is quite the opposite. It's a tragedy, and there's nothing light-hearted or even fun about it. Likely, it's probably even excruciating for some to watch. Kind of counter-intuitive for a vid that's supposed to be selling a game. But for a stand-alone piece of cinema, it's brilliant.
Feature length films try desperately to achieve the same emotive result in 90+ minutes as this tiny little CGI trailer does in three, and most don't come close. With or without a game behind it, the trailer is a masterpiece.
Thanks for the link. I liked the video.
Edited to add: Zombies, everyone dies. The End.
You know, I was gonna come up with some points to debate this, but DarkPony's right. My main reason is that it was a little girl. Some people just don't sit comfortably with little girls being killed, nevermind being turned into a zombie. My other reason is they don't expect a game to affect them emotionally (or disturb them, in this case). As Jon said in his thoughts on the matter, they expect game trailers to use heaps of awesome and badass... ness to sell their products. When something like this comes along and accurately depicts a post-Zombie Apocalypse world, it's different. Different is scary.
I don't know if this is being released as a tv commercial, but if so, I can see why people might find it upsetting.
It's pretty powerful stuff. The loss of a child. Parents in vain trying to protect and save their kid. And then the gruelsome way she suffers and dies.
Of course, there'll (probably ) never be such a thing as a zombie apocalypse, but losing your child, knowing that she suffered and died in pain and that you were unable to protect or save her, that's the nightmare of any parent.
That hits far closer to home than some people that are mowing their way through a mass of zombies while cracking jokes.

How can this trailer be more controversial than a Dead Space 2 trailer ?
Pretty cool trailer. Too bad most games never live up to the fun they show in the trailers.
Some people will whine and cry about the girl turning into a zombie, but that is life. I remember the very first scene in the walking dead tv series, they set the tone with a preteen girl taking a bullet in the head and it turned out pretty damn popular.
lol
"Come and have a look at what you could have won."
lol I mean the whining and crying part, not turning into a zombie. I guess I shouldn't post when I'm still trying to wake up.
It is the child part that gets you. That is why it hurts. To this day anything where children get abused affects me to no end any TV show I even cry when I see these scenes on TV. I stopped watching Family Law,Law and Order SVU on TV because I could not handle some of the stories. I have given up good television from not being able to handle the sadness and pain I feel from watching . That is why these types of trailers are effective.
ROFL murashu the girl turning into a zombie is life after death not life.
