Had my mouse hovering over the order $39.99/14.99 then thought i would see what is happening.
is the server up now ?
are there problems with the patcher ?
and how long does it take for then to email me a link to start download ?
also is this a big world with plenty of land to explore and settle ?
please any help here would be wonderful...

Lot's of server problems, to be expected I guess. I would hold off.
Yeah too many people logging in / downloading. I think the downloading of client is mainly the problem. I would recommend this game to anyone wanting a sandbox mmo.. BUT I would NOT recommend buying for the sole purpose of playing tonight
Saturday morning now, and they still can't keep the servers up. So no rush to order and it looks like they may have to do a character wipe.
I would hold off for a bit, still going through teething problems.

I and my tribe are having a blast struggling though the lag/crashes right now, it was 10 minute lag last night, and roll-backs in a pvp free for all, one of us took 6 hours getting to base, but it helps to bond the community, we are in this for the challenge. There is the fear that is may not be fixed soon, and we end up in a MO scenario, but as it was pretty stable during beta it should get better, given that this is a indie with very small team it may take awhile to fix it all.
It may be worth pre-ordering if you still get the 2 months and un-lootable wep, but as usual the safer route is to wait a month, but I wanted in on this at day 1, as there is no other game that is 100% sandbox, it guess it depends how well you handle technical setbacks.
It's fucked atm mate, they're using some bs excuse about downloads when in truth their game server hw is nowhere near enough to handle the traffic.
If you buy, you'll not be able to play (like none of us) in the near future, besides which there is a pretty good chance of a wipe.

yes, it;s messed up right now, but still a better bet than Earthrise. No harm in waiting a week and asking again though.
We will see in a week, wath the truth is.
Agreed, they have said they're getting more powerful game servers so I reckon that'll be the time to check it out. Although, the first few days for a lot of people is enough time for them to decide so traffic will be dropping all the time between now and then from those that quit.

lol well good news for me.. maybe it'll lag out till next friday when i get paid, that way i no one has a head start on me when it comes to the land grab :P

This is prelaunch it's not even counting from the 2 months free you get from the game.
Bought yesterday, took about 16 hours till the client download was actually done. They've setup a torrent to mitigate bandwith issues though there's currently no complete source. Did the rest via the game's own patcher.
Login takes about ~10 minutes, loading the zone takes ages. Ingame, well, roughly 1.000 ms latency and huge lag when interacting with ingame objects.
You won't be able to play, at least at the moment. But I'm more of the persistent nature. I'll easily grant additional time to let them do things the right way. Therefore I'm not really enraged about the money I've spent as well. At least right now.
No-ones giving up, the guy asked about buying the game. What were we supposed to say, "yeah mate go for it, it's all peachy you'll love it". We're just saying how the current experience is, completely unplayable and no point in buying.

I tried to play last night. Couldn't stay connected for more than 15 minutes at a time. 400-1000 ms round trip on average. It seems many of the beta players hadn't all played at once for quite some time. They all came back last night:) I did hear about the new server being in place by 3/1. The poster did make a valid point, this two week period prior to launch does not count against your two months that are included in the $40.
All that said, I'm stoked for this game! Give it a week for the devs to fix the server side issues. In reality, this is just a stress test without a server wipe at the end. See you all out there!
well , with all the fun you guys are having i went and bought . lol patcher crashed three times but now at less then a gig left.
hope this clears up before i get in but atleast i know no one will have some great head start .see you in-game or your ghost after 15 min lag ..=)
Do yourself a favor, wait a week or two, its not worth it at this time. The game is totally unplayable. Im still very interested, but save yourself the fustration.
When is the release date and how much is it in £'s ?
$40 US (I dont know in other currency) its released now BUT PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD NOW!
The game is unplayable right now because from my understanding they thought they were on a high bandwidth facitlity but are not. So until they move the game is really unplayable It literally can take more than 5 mins to complete a server related action and the server crashes about every 30 mins.
Hints of server wipe and considering all the factors to be honest if I was in his shoes (even though I want to keep what I have already) I would just do a re-release with server wipe and in the meantime shut the game server down but leave the download open.
Download and game servers are two DIFFERENT servers however they are both from the same bandwidth faciality so the entire farm has to be physically moved.

They said on the forums that there isn't nearly as bad of a load as there was yesterday, so it isn't as laggy. I haven't been able to log in yet though so I cannot tell. Is it still that bad?
it has problems for sure
but when every settle down if u are from EU you will have ping around 140
many ppl have approach to this game start as it was their first release and first mmo
this is indy developer so their resources are limited
and comparing this game to Mortal Online is way to much x)
prolly MO never was and never be as polished as Xsyon in beta
imo its worth to buy - but if you kind of guy that - A PAYED AND I WANT TO PLAY NOW NOW NOW!!!1!!1!!1

if you buy download using the official torrent. http://www.xsyon.com/install/Xsyon.torrent I am personally seeding at 350ks, it's much faster then the download server.
But if you haven't already bought it, what possible motivation is there to buy now? You can't play the game.

Hmm, I'm not interested in Xyson, but I'll be out today so I've fired up the torrent, looks like D/L will complete in less than an hour and then I'll let this bad boy seed at around 2MB/s until later tonight.
The client patched pretty fast on the normal updater. I logged in and talked in global, took about 10 seconds to actually react to what I typed. So the lag is REALLY bad. Just like seanmcmad said. Bahh I was hoping to get into a tribe or something, too bad.
