Is anyone else getting weird performance? At max settings I'm getting 20-30 FPS (1600x900 resolution).
I run WoW, The Witcher, All the games on the Source Engine (TF2, L4D2, HL2, etc) in max settings. And I just tried the Crysis SP Demo and I can run that in max too (same resolution as stated before).
Is performance something they are still working on, or is it just pretty much going to release as is in terms of how it's running on certain systems?
System Specs:
AMD PHenom II X4 3.2GHz
G.Skill 4GB DDR3 1333
EVGA Geforce GTX 460 1GB
EDIT: When I say I can run those other games at max, I mean I'm running them at ~60+ FPS.

I think they do the Antialiasing with a more high end filter Screen space one etc or something so ive read.. Reduce that will probably help alot... Until they may give us more options to select.
Oh? Well that is quite interesting. I was not aware of that. Awesome though.

For me, Antialiasing and Lighting quality are the two main factors influencing framerate. Oddly, nothing else seems to have noteworthy impact - I am getting 25 frames at 1080p with AA enabled when staring at a wall, and pretty much the same in the middle of a raid with lots of landscape around.
Switching AA off (or going for that blur effect) boosts it to about 45. Anyway, it's weird alright, but at least raid-friendly

For 2 days i was getting 15-20fps on a minimum setting.
After disabling AA and turning off shadows , i started getting 45-50fps on ultra. This is really annoying i hope they fix this soon.
Playing the game with no shadows kinda sux.
( i5 core 2.53GHz tb up to 2.9GHz / 6g DDR3 ram. / ati mobility radeon 6370 512mb)
1600X900 res.
Yes i know 512 is a bit low , but not for this game.
Minimum is 128 and Recomended is 512.
CYRI hit the recomended line on my pc , so it should have no problems handling this game.
If i can play FF!X on med with some shadows , this game should run better than it does on my pc.
I have a GTS 450, 8gb ram, i7 870 2.93, and I have been getting 30-40 fps on ultra, with shadows and such on, they are still working on getting things optimized, and some people are having problems with lower numbers, like you are, when your graphics card is better than mine, by far.
They have made big strides in the last few weeks though, my FPS has jumped like 20.
I noticed that I have less preformance when I play Defiant than when I play Guardians. I also think they will fix the fps some when going retail, this beta that is going now is just to hammer servers. So I think the preformance will be much better in retail.
I use intell i7 2.66 ghz
6gb DDR3 1333
XFX Radeon HD 6870 1gz
And I dont have as low as 20fps on 1920x1080 with max settings
Dissabling shadows might help abit
Windows XP
8800GT 512mb
2.3GHz Core2Cuo
2gb Corsair RAM
A hella lotta freespace on the hard disk.
And currently in beta I am running on ULTRA setting with no shadows and no AA (not needed since I am running the game on 1900x1080 and therefore smooth edges are occuring naturally) and I am getting around 40-49 FPS when not in a rift area, or around a raid+ amount of people.
When in high player areas during rifts or other raid events I will drop to between 23 - 35 FPS - completely dependent on the number of players, etc.
So far I have had no issues levelling up my mage character and my warrior character, though when levelling the mage I was running on medium or high with shadows, and getting a fair amount of stutter.
Also I am using a Wifi connection to BT Openzone - shocking I know but currently don't have internet in my accomodation except for this option, and get between 64 - 172 latency without the weird latency spikes going on before the latest patch.

EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SuperClocked 768MB vershion of your card
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 BE (same as yours)
and 8gb of ram
I play at a the same resolution than you also and getting the same fps as you (drops to about 10-15 fps in rifts).
tbh on our systems we should get much better performance and hopefully they will be working on it.
The chances of changes being made before release are very slim tho tbh as this will taake time to sort out.
Well I'm not having this issue but know at least two people who are. Oddly enough they have newer video cards than me.

Just an update,
using the 11.2 cats and a link from rage3d for the latest (no idea if its a tweaked one) profile installer seems to make a nice difference for alot of ati card users regarding performance.
radeon 6370= gf 8600/ radeon 2600 (more than4 years old cards) so this is rather weak graphic card, if you manage to play Rift on ultra 1600x900 it means that this game has really low system requirements but it has some strange bugs with shadows and AA
