Im sure that bonus xp will mean a lot to all 50 of the max level people still playing that game....
Well...at least the team is still throwing players little treats. Occasionally.
Vanguard extended (anytime soon?).

May SOE fail with all they do in the future!! Would be poetic justice for all disgruntled former SOE customers.
*boggle* Sunday afternoon of the bonus xp weekend and this announcement gets out there. Sad, even if it does run through Tuesday.
I sure hope so. I know I would certainly have it on my desktop. Really like the game, however just not enough for a monthly sub. Oh well it's SoE so doubt we'll see f2p anytime soon...
unbelievable..thats about all they can do for there players..bonux xp..sony go f--- yourselves
What do you want SOE to do for this game that has what 5,000 players ? They should do what NCSoft did with Tabula Rasa or Turbine with AC 2 shut it down instead of letting them continue to play because simply not worth SOE's time to keep this game going at all. They continue to get flack for it so they should just kill it, would that make people happy then ?
it would,nt have 5k players if sony had spent some time on the game, i played it for 2 yrs and in 2 yrs they never did any content update.fact is they have never invested a penny in this game.they only bought this game to keep it down so it didnt compete with eq2.imo anyways, but i suppose after this time it should be close to being shutdown.but has long has they are getting money off it then sony will milk it for all its worth. cant blame them really.
When I played it they were people working on it and introducing changes to how you earned recipe tokens and there were even diplomacy content added. It continued to lose players in spite of it. The game cannot get people to play it face it no matter what SOE did the game continued to lose people. It is a dead game they should let it go much as I loved it I think SOE is just getting more hate for keeping it going they should just dump it.
have to say when push comes to shove its by far the best mmo i,ve played.
This is a great game sadly i only played it to 15 or so, but i had a blast getting there till i was turned off by the lack of players leveling around me i could never find a group or else id still be playing this game.... oh well Rift Headstart is in 3/4 days.
5k players is most probably being more than a little generous. Why SOE keep the game going is a mystery to most people.
Hey Sony, make this game F2P and I would play. The game hasn't had a major update in ages. SOE should either sell the game or just turn the servers off. At least if they went the F2P way they might see an increase in game traffic.
I think you guys are missing the point that Vanguard is really still profitable. If it has 5k subs then they are making $70,000 a year from those subs and it only costs a fraction of that to maintain two Vanguard servers in SoE's server cluster. Obviously they have zero devs working on Vanguard and SoE is just pocketing the money. It is almost pure profit now to keep Vanguard running. It could "Limp along" all the way to the bank like this for years.
Everyone likes to knock this game for some reason. The truth is it was one of the most ambitious mmo's to be produced.
like many others funds just ran out. look at the mounts the number of classes, the crafting, the diplomacy, the non instanced
world, which I might add is georgeous. It would be a shame if they took it down.
It's probably considered an important accessory in the Station Pass. If 5K is the actual number of players (I have no clue), that really isn't too demanding on hardware, comparatively speaking.
Vanguard Extended... one can only hope. This game really needs more people because that would eventually lead to SOE investing more into the game as opposed to just keeping a skeleton crew on it.
I still have a 30 day activation code to use on VG -- I just haven't yet because my time is tight and I don't want to start a game with an ongoing subcription that isn't being plowed back into it. It is very clear that VG is getting nothing back from the people paying to play it -- I just can't do that in good conscience.
Vanguard = a brilliant game
