    I was able to download the patcher but it says 'you are not authorized to play this game' whenI try to run log in. I called them about headstart the other day and the guy said I was good to go for headstart. I definitely preordered. Anyone else not able to patch?

    The patcher is locked until head start begins. Everybody will get that error

     Headstart does not begin until Thursday 10am PST.  You will not be able to log in until then.

    Patching now! :) This is exciting!!

     

    Rift was my first MMO beta and I have to say having your characters wiped is a bit of a shock...

    (edit: see below, it was just patching the patcher... Trion are scrambling to set things up properly so I expect we jumped a bit too soon lol)

    Two things:

    First - http://www.riftgame.com/en/headstart/index.php

    Second - http://www.riftgame.com/en/_maintenance/

    The first item would suggest that those that are stating you need to wait are incorrect.  There is another thread posted by MMORPG.com linking to that page.

    The second item...well, the account section is currently under maintenance - hence, you cannot log in.  Try again when maintenance has been completed.

    I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

    False alarm.  Rift is not ready for download. We have the patcher, but Trion already broke it.  :)  No game downloading yet.

    Striving for Silver Stars since Gold is so effeminate.

    Actually I'm on my account page right now. Maybe it's because you have _maintenance in your link.

     

    Edited: shoot It's down again. I was on it before.

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Odd when I called and talked to them on the phone they said an email would happen with link to download the game for the head start.

    Played: MCO - EQ/EQ2 - WoW - VG - WAR - AoC - LoTRO - DDO - GW/GW2 - Eve - Rift - FE - TSW - TSO - WS - ESO - AA - BD
    Playing: Sims 3 & 4, Diablo3 and PoE
    Waiting on: Lost Ark
    Who's going to make a Cyberpunk MMO?

    No they are two seperate clients. You have to uninstall the beta first
