It seems the official Starvault account on youtube has posted a new video (showing old beta/pre-rendered footage) stating that free trials are "Starting Now"

No update on the site yet, but since this is the official Starvault account on youtube it looks legit.

EDIT: Video has been taken down until tomorrow. Word is that they jumped the gun by a day. Check back here tomorrow for the free trial.

The funny and sad thing about this is even the dismal population of the game do not think that it is ready for a free trial. I am sure if this is true it is a last ditch effore to get the numbers up for the upcoming quarterly.

But I see it blowing up in thier face. I am glad that they are doing it. It will show the world what load of crap the game is. But we all know Henrik needs 15,000 subs to break even. Free trial or not there is no way they will keep 15k people playing emptybox online.

The year end report will be released tomorrow. I am sure that in the accompanying statement it will mention the huge influx of players expected from the Free Trial :-)
As for whether it's ready or not. Well.. if it isn't ready to be played FOR FREE, it sure as hell isn't ready for you to charge for it :P

ON a side note, you know you should start downloading and patching now. It will take forever with the awesome player patcher.
I can't help but think that's what the candle countdown has been for -- which oddly enough, nobody cares about any more either.

If they are releasing free trials, it must really be time that the company is about out of business. It's a last ditch effort to get subs.

I'd love to read it, but I have a ~200 player battle to attend to in Perpetuum so Henrik's latest ramblings about how awesome everything is and how they just need a *leeeeeettle* bit more time & money will have to wait for a little bit.
