Ndoors Interactive let us know that the much-discussed stamina system for Atlantica Online has been removed. The decision to take the system out of the game came as a direct result of player feedback. The removal of the stamina system will make leveling characters more efficient and will significantly reduce the amount of time players spend micromanaging points and resources.
“The Atlantica Online team really values the input and feedback we receive from our players”, says Eric Han, Atlantica Online’s Assistant Producer. “We’re constantly working to improve the mechanics of the game, and thanks to our active vocal community we are able to make enhancements that keep them engaged and excited to keep playing.”

Yes it is about damn time, I started up a few days ago again (ijji is still useless, went to ndoors), it was a nice touch to see the plan to remove such an annoying system.
I did not expect to see it come true on the date they announced, since there wasn't any talk about it, but low and behold it did! There wasn't even so much as a comfirmation post on the forums (last I checked), it just ninja'd in (or out), was so weird, and GREAT!
You can now fight whatever you want for as long as you want, without needing to check the mobs details first to see weither or not that mob's group has what you want or is worth the -1 stam to fight it, that was such a pain in the ass.
Wasn't there no stamina system in the game at one point? If not, why even add it to the game? Seems really silly to add such a system in the game...

there wasn't stamina before, but that was way back in beta. it's been years...maybe now i'll pick it up again
I salute Ndoors for doing this, even though the game itself wasn't my cup of tea. I'm glad they're willing to admit this system isn't really all that good. Now if Nexon would rip Fatigue out of DFO and the rest of their games, like Elsword, which we might be getting... who knows, maybe Webzen will rip fatigue out of Continent of 9 when it comes out over here. It got so bad with these companies throwing this trashy stamina system in that Square-Soft tried to release a game that let you EXP for 8 hours a WEEK as a freaking Pay To Play.
The sooner fatigue systems go the better. Any company that tries to tell me what I can do with my free time can expect to never see a dime from me.
Stamina is just the start, makes not a lot of difference
With all the new games coming out they will have to do more
To stay competative (not to be top player just to stay competative) they need to either remove totally or include the blessing licence in warrior pack you get from cash shop
I am speaking from experience, been playing since closed beta (not many of us left) and having to pay $30 a month to play at decent level is a bit much when you have new mmos giving full content on subscription for half that amount
I am semi retiring tomorrow when RIFT starts and for past few days been playing without a blessing potion, difference is incredible If they sort out the blessing potion next then i can see me returning full time but as it is am only gonna visit occasionally to do their pvp contests
Sounds like the Stamina system is gone, but the cash shop being a requirement at higher levels is still a concern.

During one CB test 1 there was no stamina at all, how I know? I played all the CB testing.
hah! it only took em 2 years to remove it too!
I loved this game when it was in Beta and towards the end they implemented that stamina system. We complained quite a bit over the system and nothing was done when the game went live. Due to this system I turned my back on Atlantica Online and never looked back. Today, there are more game choices out there and Atlantica just does not seem as shiney to me as it once did. I doubt I'll ever even look at this game again.
The game actually "starts" after level 110, until then all things are fine and everyone who did not play from that level up will describe the game as being great (and they will be right about it, until then it is a great game).
The game's gear does not come from completing achievements like raids and bosses, it comes from grinding materials. The stamina removal actually helps only the people who were already very high level and super strong and who use Item Mall. With the removal of stamina the casual players and the people who are not willing / unable to pay for items from the Item Mall will be totally screwed, there will be no sense of accomplishment for them.
Stamina stopped the grind all day no-lifers from crashing the market. As a casual player, the removal of stamina made me quit the game, gonna take my money to Trion's Rift.
The game's system is, all in all, a trickery. It becomes a Heavy grind after lvl 97. Today's level cap is 140, you need 135+ And awesome gear to be competitive, to be able to earn enough. A new player can reach that level and gear in about 2 years of playing 6+ hours per day without Heavily (a few hundred bucks/week at least) using the Item Mall. Here i mean you'll still need the 30 bucks/month for commodities.
In 1 years, when you will finally think "well i am close to get there" they will do what they did the last 2 times they've rised the level cap. They will heavily nerf the content (take items off the loot tables and put gold, instead of getting the item which was worth ten million now you'll get 5k gold ) and rise the level cap again and open a new honey pot for you to run for. You will just find yourself in a terrible race to the top, which you will most likely never reach. You will end up either spending a ton (thousands) to get there only to be able to grind more, or you will leave in frustration. If you wanna be competitive in any way, stay away from this game or be ready to drop a few thousands (no i am not joking about the sum). If you want just to play a different game for fun until lvl 100ish, go ahead and do it, the game is a blast till then.
Last but not least, by agreeing with their TOS, you agree that you own nothing if you use their service, that the company owns your account, your characters, your items etc. and that you cannot take legal action against them no matter what they do to your account. The game's Item Mall does not offer items, but boxes with "chances" to get items. A box costs normally 1000 Gcoins (which you can buy for about 10 bucks) and contains 2-3 good items with very low drop rates and another ~40 garbage items. My former guild leader left the game (heavy Item Mall user, lvl 140, been ingame forever) after spending ~700 bucks on boxes without getting the item she wanted, and tons of bugs and other reasons which can be read here:

It is a completely harmless link to Atlantica Online's forum.
No stamina means more bots and we all know there are tones of bots. More bots means the economy will be fked up, crafting wont be worth it anymore and so on... That is a bad call but that is only my opinion.
I noticed there's 2 types of cash shop system.
1. Getting money from selling end game material to get better stats.
2. Restricting time (using tokens, stamina) on a skill based game like vindictus because skill is more important than stats.
AO falls in 1. Having stamina makes no sense in that CS system because it prevents people from getting into end game to spend money on end game material.
I'd rather have 2 because I rather wait a day for the tokens to refill than to spend hundreds of $ gearing up for end game.
People will always complain no matter what. I think getting rid of the stamina is a great move as a casual player sometimes i have a day to play in a month and i want to use that day fully. So for me this is a plus and i am very happy that they did this. As for the cash shop, it is ok that they make it only for the hardcore maxed out gamers since i will probably never reach the max level i enjoy the content of the game on the way up and i don't have to pay 1cent. In my opinion this is the best way to do things, because if ever i reach the max level and i am maxed out and need to buy items from the cash ship it means that i've been playing for a dam long time, so paying some dollars to that game that made me enjoy tousands of hours sounds fair to me. It is the best system of F2P in my opinion. I am off to play now.
