According to a new article at the Huffington Post, it appears that the rumors of a theme park based on Blizzard Entertainment properties is indeed under construction in China. The article references a Chinese news broadcast and contains several screenshots of the park under construction taken from the report. Called "Joyland", the park will feature zones called Moles World, World of Legend, Universe of Starcraft, Island of Mystery and Terrain of Warcraft.
So geek fantasies do come true. At least they do In Wunjin district, China. Reported way back on February 7, 2011 by a French gaming blog, the videogame studio Blizzard's World of Warcraft and StarCraft themed amusement park appears to be more than just rumor after recent photos of the construction surfaced along with a Chinese news report.

Gamebreaker has it covered.
Did I bang my face on my keyboard? No. But in my mind, I did.
Blizzard seems to prioritize pleasing its Chinese customers.
*queues up for the rollercoaster*
OMG LAG!
My brand new bloggity blog.
I'm not entirely sure Blizzard is even involved with this. Conversation probably went like this
China - "We love you long time! 5% royalties for theme park of starcraft"
Blizzard ' "Um, yeah ok dude" ~click~
Blizzard - "Hello?? You there? We need more details!"
China is like California. They get all the good shit first.
Don't worry, I'm sure you guys in the US will get your very own WoW Themepark clone somewhere down the line
"Mr. Rothstein, your people never will understand... the way it works out here. You're all just our guests. But you act like you're at home. Let me tell you something, partner. You ain't home. But that's where we're gonna send you if it harelips the governor." - Pat Webb
Well now its official, WoW really is a Themepark MMO.
Wonder how many times folks will have to "grind out" the roller coaster before they can hit endgame content?
CCP counters by building a sandbox in Egypt!
+1 LOL!
Now people understand where Blizzard's priorities are.
Bringing themepark to games and real life alike! Hahaha.
That is deliciously apropos and ironic.
I can't believe no one said anything about gold farmers yet.

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.
Please, I'll close my eyes and when I reopen them this horrible piece of news is gone, please?
Well, even though I don't like WoW doesn't mean I don't like theme parks. However, it's in a country I am not really interested in so.. Lets hope they'll build another one in Europe/America.
will they have a random roller coaster group finder? i would hate to have to yell "LF3M roller coaster group!" all day.
Wow, blizzard is so cloning six flags. The same things are in it. They even serve DRINKS there, COME ON.
I see a lawsuit coming.
They've got rides like six flags. This is such a Six Flags clone!
the problem will be you can go on rides number 1-75 all in like 2 minutes.
RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

+3 LOL!
Yeah this prolly has nothing to do with Bliz, like Mike B suggested in Gamebreaker.
I have spent some time in China. Yes there are sposed to be laws on everything, but there is no law enforcement. Chinese police won't do anything about it, especially when the theme park will make them money.
+4 omfg ahahahaha
China has had a t.v. channel dedicated to Warcraft RPGs for years. It runs 24x7 hours a day/week. Not a surprise. Though, I am tired of hearing American subscription numbers being inflated by Asian consumers of the game but lol - I do believe the U.S. still has some 2 million subs? This may change with some of the new titles this year.
