RP-PVP. I'm thinking you'll get less jerks just out to gank on an rp one. I'd rather them have a purpose such as the war and not so much as a chance to teabag someone. I find strait PVP just makes me miss DAoC a lot more.
Going to wait a few months and then decide if I want to pickup the game. Did all the betas and I'm burned out on it already. If I decide to get into it, it will be on a PVE server. I did a pvp server for beta and wasn't impressed at all with pvp in rift. Community reminded me of AoC community and most of the pvp I saw was running around ganking lowbies and camping respawn points. Oh what fun!
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
I always find it amusing when people stereotype and differentiate between MMO gaming communities, where truthfully we're pretty much mostly the same people jumping from game to game.

I don't doubt you but if I was a sadistic griefer I would choose RP server too.
Funny enough on open beta I experienced WOW flash backs with an annoying stealth rogue 5 levels higher who decided to make me a constant target. He pretty much carved me up in seconds. They are definitely out there in Rift.
I'll be going PvE for the first time. Tired of trying to explore and do what I like and getting ganked by a bunch of people. I usually like PvP just to have the option there if I want it.

RP-PVP is my way to go. Love Rift for having this kind of server.

Seems like a few of us will be on the same server as there is only 1 NA RP-PvP server atm and the same for EU.

EU pve server it will be for me, I dont like 100 % griefservers with rogues camping newbiezones.
