Xsyon; Our support to the developers.

I find it amazing that the feedback for Xsyon has been both engaging and positive, even despite the setback of needing additional servers. It has been quite a long time that a game can be discussed on such a neutral level. Even more so amazing than this is that Xsyon is such a breath of fresh air with unlimited potential.

I have pre-ordered and having a blast atm. I'm actually really enjoying the civil conversation, getting some fires and baskets made and looking for some prime land to camp base, it is actually really involving. I always wanted elements where you have to look after yourself, like your water and food intake etc.

I really want to support the developers here because it is a game for the players; it's our world. We will define in the coming weeks where the trade is, what currency (if any), elements of a PVP system and a more fluid combat, transport, and this is just the beginning.

I am quite excited to see that atm the game is so open, so ready to explode with creativity and expansion in so many routes.

This is what I want for now. I think the devs have done a good job here.

Very well put; I myself am considering purchasing Xsyon for the sole purpose of supporting the devs. Handing over such tremendous control to the players is a tough choice for many developers, and we need to make them aware that we stand behind them -- not just verbally, but financially.

I'm on the fence about subbing to Xsyon, and I have one question: how much time do you spend actively moving your mouse and tapping your keyboard? That is to say, will Xsyon require my full attention, or only half? Can I expect to watch crafting/harvesting bars for the majority of my playtime?

edit: I guess that was three questions ^_^

I appricate what the Xsyon devs are doing, it will be great to see a flourishing trade/building based sandbox. It's just a real shame about the combat and PvP.

Now on the other end of the spectrum, Darkfall my current game and favorite indie developers have got great PvP and PvE but are lacking the real sandbox at the moment.

I just see Darkfall reaching 'full potential' first. Indie devs do need to be supported however or their vision will die with them.

funkeemonk, this game will require your full attention for the most part. Also, since it's fight for all PVP with full looting, you'd best watch your back while out there harvesting, scavenging, hunting, fishing etc. Sometimes while harvesting you could afk for 30 seconds or so while the action finishes, but nothing like afk mining found in EVE. :D

Will Xsyon reguire my full attention:   If you are soloing, I would say yes, because there will be alot to do to keep you afloat.  If you are in a guild, not really.  Alot of my guild members pop in and pop out as it fancies them.  They work on a project or do some crafting, or whatever.  It really depends on your play style.

Can I expect to watch crafting/harvesting bars:  Harvesting bars you will see a alot of, crafting bars, not so much.

hope this helps, GL and I hope to see you in game.
