Ah, the impatience of youth. ^^ I remember, once I too always wanted to be among the first to "leave my footprints in the snow". The excitement to see the first days of a MMO was great.
These days, I am more cold hearted; I wait how it all turns out and my zeal to be "first" is almost vanished.

Yeah see your name, it doesn't matter that much, eventually you will just be some guy. Maybe the name is cool to you, but to many others they will look at it and think differently. The true foot prints left by players are the ones where when the person dies their character becomes a game npc, or those beta testers on EQ whoes chared corpses were added to Nagafins lair for all time. Names come and go, being able to say "That chared dead guy there, yeah that was me." That is forever, or at least until the game servers are taken down.
I long for the day when I can smile and look at something I did in a beta being made part of the game as a whole. On an different note, I now know if I ever make a mmo I will put the beta in a place within the game that will not exsist in the normal game. So when beta ends so will that place.

Maybe not the highlight. Jackass 3D wasn't my favorite movie of all time, but I enjoyed it.
The post I responded to is the forum equivalent of that movie.
