There is a Roumer flying right now that the US compnay Net Devil, owned by mega publishing giant Gazillion entertainment is selling off the IP Jumpgate Evolution to a Korean developer, which will then finish off rebrand the game and launch it in Korea.
When asked for confirmation on the subject over the Net Devil Forums, a GM replied saying that he could not comment for legal reasons.
Just wondering if any of the Korean players who use this site, may have any further ifno on this.

Honestly, why developers are still wasting money on this.
I am not saying that it is a bad game, but EvE Online is still going strong and it is pretty much flawless.
I don't see how any other Space MMO can challeng it.
the first space mmo to offer crafting, trading and a working player economy with twitch flight physics will destroy EvE.
JGE was looking like it would be that game, twitch flight, massive dog fights with hundred of players, crafting hauling mining, it ticked all the box's but then that lance guy took over the two most important people to the game Scot and Hermman left and the game went to shit.
I still have hope for the game, but its dwindling fast.
Wonder if they concluded the lawsuit with CodeMasters? hhmm this bears more investigation.
EvE has already one of the best trading and crafting systems in all MMO industry, let alone Space MMO
I am not sure what you are talking about.
He's saying that someone who's able to combine EVE's non-combat activities with twitch-based flight will have everything that's required to outpace EVE in terms of player population. Whether or not that's true is uncertain, but it's undeniable that there are people out there who are less than thrilled with EVE's click-to-move aspects.
Still, given EVE's time-based training model, I think CCP would hold on to more of their playerbase than most, even if such a twitch-based, trading and crafting sim ever made it to market. The amount of time people have invested in their EVE characters/alliances is atypical of the genre. I'm sure there'd be a bit of turnover, simply due to the fact that the theme and flight model would generate some crossover interest, but they'd most likely draw from a more heavily skewed action-gamer pool of players.
Oh you mean what EVE already did minus Twitch flight?

JGE will never compete on EVE's level, the player ecomony is way more complex and the range of ships and customization out pace it. JGE only has crusier type ships with limited customization available if they ever release it.
DevilX, it def wont, thing is the game went under a re-design i assume when lance robertson took over, and they dropped crafting mining hauling and turned it into DAoC in space without all the good stuff.
So in the past the intention was that jumpgate would offer meaningful player crafting, player hauling and transporting, mining, and a good health economy, combined with twitch flight, it would have been a real contender to EvE, but now as it is and with what we know, being sold to korea nothing more than CS:Source in space, I think its not looking good.
Sadly.
Pre-Changes JGE
Crafting > Space > PVP > PVE > Hauling > Mining > Auction Hosues > Zone Control > Twitch Combat
EvE
Crafting > Space > PVP > PVE > Hauling > Mining > Auction Houses > Zone Control > Clicky Combat
Yeah they look so different from each other I really cant tell them appart, ok sarcasim appart, their about as different from each other as Counter Strike is to Unreal Tournament, their both online first person shooters, both do pretty much the same thing just in their own way. I dont think anyone woulc argue if I compared CS to UT.
People normally EvE fans really do want to distance EvE from any possible competition but the truth is their far more alike than they want to beleive, sure they have differences their different games, by different developers different artists, but they offer the same sort of thing, same type of environments, while one offers clicky clicky moveing, and the other offers more fly by your pants movement.
Not to worry your little EVE heart out tho, since Lance Robertson took over, and the two most important people in the team left, he's ripped everything it had in common with EvE out, and left it nothing more than a shell of a game, with sole focus on factional PVP, no crafting no hauling or trading, no depth, no bounty hunting, no story other than the PVP crap he's forcing down our throats. that is if they dont sell to korea.
I really do see his arrival at net devil as a sign of doom, hell you never know if they sell to Korea, the koreans might do a better job with the game and put a little of the depth back into it.
As for the story, being true or false, well, I did say it was a rumour, and I also said that a GM replied to the thread on the Net Devil forums saying that he could not comment due to legal reasons, what legal reasons, the fact there are legal reasons stoping him from simply sayin nah were not selling dont be silly, use your brain.
Are you saying you have a source at net devil, you asked this person and he denied it ?
Kiss off Jumpgate Evolution, I'm sorry to say. I was looking forward to the game, too. I know a guy who was at NetDevil, and he said the JGE team got laid off by Gazillion about two weeks ago. He just got laid off last night, too, with a lot of the rest of the studio, and he said that everyone thinks Gazillion is just closing down the studio.
Doesn't sound like he'd heard anything about the game IP being sold to a Korean company. He did say it was funny/odd, because apparently NetDevil was the only studio that had released or was close to releasing any products for Gazillion.
If this game did get sold to the Koreans, they would turn the gameplay into somthing like Pirate Galaxy.. maybe with a differnce of moving up and down.
As much as I used to like the Jumpgate series, I really don't know what will happen in the future about this series.
