Downloading the game

A lot of people seem to ask where to download a copy of the game, so I decided to make this post. The game client will work with a free trial or paying account. It all depends on what account you create.

Here is the primary download for AC2

Here is an alternate download link

Here is another alternate link

If you are using an old copy of the game like the Fallen Kings cd, you will need the new launcher, which is right here.

There is not client download for the expansion pack content, so it has to patch after installing. If this is your first time play, I ask that you give the game at least a good week of play. You don't start meeting people until a bit later in the game.

And the reason you don't meet people til later is... *drumroll* because so few people play this game. Fascinating that this is the case just 2 weeks after an expansion pack is released, eh? Can we say "dead game" yet?

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend AC2 to anyone in its current state unless you already liked AC2 before the xpack. And if that's the case, you were probably already playing.

The adventure is in the journey itself.

There's no need to bash AC2 or call it dead. 600~ players at peak times is not dead and I don't know how any person can wish death on a game that people actual enjoy. It's not nice!

Obviously AC2 still has a bad stigma left over from the first year or so of its existance. Now and days it's a good game. I recommend you play Neocron and Horizons, your dislike or hate would be put to much better use there with those games that really deserve it.

You're right about one thing though, if you didn't like AC2 before the expansion (ie. if you played within the last several months) not enough probably changed to make you think different. If you didn't like AC2 because you played around it's launch then I beg to differ. It has changed a good bit since the launch.

    Yeh, i'm enjoying it.

About not seeing people in newbies areas. is becuase you pretty much tend to get moved out of there fast.

Unlike WoW you don't have a noobie hub you return to repeatedly for quests. In AC2 quests send you out of the region after you do just one.

F#ck off professor. I recommend anyone to try it yourself, and don't listen to idiots.

That was a really good idea posting the links to the game download.  Thanks.

Although I still get the bums about having to download 150Mb updates all the time.

Don't turbine know how to program vector based renders instead of using bitmapped textures?

    Cheers.
