Are there flying mounts in rift?

There has been a lot of talk regarding the soul tree aspect of this game which I think is really interesting, but not a lot of talk on the transportation aspects of the game. I know there are mounts and that there doesn't seem to be a level limit on mounts, there is also portals for traveling and binding but haven't heard anything about flying mounts or if there will be flying mounts. Anyone have any insight on this topic.

Only if they add rocket launchers too.

Flying mounts ruin more then they add. I can honestly say, few years back in burning crusade of WoW. I got to 70 and obtained a flying mount, I was immensely joyed after obtaining one and knowing that I could fly, omg omg omg?! (I know, right?.)

Not even one week passed by before flying was oldhat...

They ruin the population feel of a game and being able to just hop onto a flying mount and then fly off at will really isn't all that good.

After years of being able to fly in WoW, I'd much prefer newer MMO games just skip the flying part.

WoW mostly turned into a ghost town anyway seeing as everyone just gets to cap lvl and then stick to the hubs and go into instances from randoms and whatnot. The community feel gets punched down the drain, it's no fun. It needs to be avoided in future MMO games if this genre is going to stay good.

The people and the friends that we have lost, and the dreams that have faded, never forget them~

    +1 well said

besides the cool factor flying mounts ruined a great deal of the game for me.

Haha, once you are able to fly in *some other MMO*, I feel it difficult to go back to walking. ^^

Gotta save some stuff for post launch content patches and expansions.  I fully expect to see flying mounts, housing and other things in the next few years.  If not....well, there are other games coming very soon.
