Buy Rift

Its fun! There is never a dull moment. Graphics are slick, the invasions and Rifts are out of this world! You only have to manage a total of 4 toons! Wife and I are enjoying the heck out of this one. There are tons of subscribers this game should do well!

I had to counter the Do not buy Rift post... But I do really enjoy this new MMO.. Who the F cares Next Generation or not, go back to the Nerdery homeboy.

If I was not nearly-homeless, I would absolutely buy Rift. It's a great game, despite what even I have proclaimed about its similarities to WoW, etc. It is a rip off of every game that came before it, but its innovation lies in the way it combines all of those elements.

Rift is a very solid game, Trion has done a very good job in many areas most MMO's fail.

I condone and support this thread.  :D

Seriously, I'm having a blast.  It's a nice change of scenery for those bored of the last 6 years same old same old.  The MMORPG slump is now officially over.

The only real catch is the 3-6 hour queues on some servers which is utterly ridiculous. Once you get in-game its a good experience. I just hope since they have those issues during prime time logins on probably 50% of the their servers they either come up with a solution, or add more servers.

The biggest shame is for guilds who are still waiting for members to get in game, and who have to look at 'em and tell 'em to queue in 3-4 hours at least before they want to play.

Despite that, still a better release than other MMO's where server crashes are the norm, or they are bug riddled. I'd give Rift a thumbs up so far to anyone who'd ask. While it isnt worth a 3-6 hour queue, it is worth a little wait to enjoy.

They are definately getting better. Any game with this much hype and build up will see these queues from this launch forward I am sure. Heck even current MMO Expacs see queue times go large then normalize out. TRION has done a great job reacting in my opinion. They had 1 milliion registered users at prelaunch day one.. Then everyone sitting around who hadn't ordered and were bored with everything else pulled the trigger and got in on the action as well. Hopefully we will see lots more servers and folks stick around.

Rift is a great game. Its fast, fun, deep, big, and looks great. It's only going to get better with age. Rift will be the second most popular mmo ever.

Those are some pretty big shoes to fill.

All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.

I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.

I have yet to see one, although I get in and camp out to the character select screen when not playing. But from what I hear the evening queues are still around but are no longer hours long.
