The good MMO buzz feeling is back
It has been such a long time since players had that good mmo buzz feeling since the release of World of Warcraft. Today is the official launch of the game and people are coming in hordes to come play. I personally haven't been this excited about a good mmo since my days in Final Fantasy XI. I log in from home after work and I see a ton of people on my server playing their butts off doing rifts, dungeons, looking for groups,looting and crafting. Good conversations in chat and some are actually funny to watch while I play with my guild mates.
I still say once the behemoths take flight such as The Old Repulbic and Guild Wars 2 the hype will definitely go down but you know what, lets enjoy it while it lasts because so many years have passed and we seen so many failures. Finally Rift comes along and brings a polished fun mmo experience. I'll defintiely take 6-8 months of a good mmo expereince from Trion rather than continue to suffer with horrible failures most other mmo companies have been shelling out for the past 5+ years.

No doubt GW2 and SWTOR will have an impact on Rift as Rift will have an impact on WoW. Those two games are being released either very late 2011 or 2012 so there is plenty of time to enjoy Rift in the mantime. If it has a successful launch and keeps the end game intersting, not many will want to steer away from it regardless of what other MMO's come out down the road.
I totally agree mate, it's good to see finally a decent/good MMORPG being launched without too many problems.
Hopefully Rift wont fail afterall like WAR and Age of Conan?, but we will see what the future will bring us
I have no doubt that GW2 will steal me away from Rift but until then this is a good game to pass the time.

Agreed, rift will keep me plenty busy till GW2 is released
