EOIGaming - Regulos - PVP Server (Guardians)

JosexphJosexph Member Posts: 121

EOIGaming or Edge of Insanity is a group of like-minded individuals looking to achieve a common goal. We are very selective in our recruitment to ensure members that we bring into the community are a good fit for us. We are only looking for individuals who excel at what they do and are able to work well in groups.

We will keep our ranks trimmed with only what we need to achieve our goals and hope that some of you are looking for a similar atmosphere. We consider ourselves a family and we have a lot of fun gaming together but when it is all said and done on the battlefield it is business.

More information and history of Edge of Insanity can be found at our website at http://www.eoigaming.com - Note: Our website is currently being redone so at this time it's rather bare in our forums, but the required information for applications and other guild related information is available.

Requirements

We ask that all applying members are at least 18 years of age or older. Our ventrilo can become colorful at time and we do not want to offend anyone. Not to mention due to our raid times, we want to make sure everyone is capable of maintaining a steady raid Schedule without having to log off for the evening due to "parent issues" or other unforeseen problems that may present itself.

All raid members should be able to maintain at least an 80% raid attendance schedule. It's a very simple concept really, when you apply to the guild you're asked this very same question. If you're not able to make at least 80% raid attendance your chances of obtaining access to the guild will be greatly reduced. Though that's not to say we're complete power houses without a cause. Everyone has problems, real life, work etc etc. If something comes up. Tell us, easy as that.

Everyone is required to use ventrilo while in game. We are a gaming community and our chapter in rift will be no different than any other. We like everyone to use ventrilo to foster a better gaming environment and so we can get to know each other better.

Recruitment Needs

The class needs below are a rough idea of what we're looking for come end game in Rift. These are subject to change.

Warrior (Tank) 1 Warrior (DPS/Off Spec Tank) 2 (If you're a DPS warrior but wouldn't mind stepping up to the plate to tank when asked) Cleric (Healing) 3 Cleric (Healing)(Sentinel) 1 (Dedicated Tank Healing) Rogue (Bard) 2 (Bard is required to be a dedicated (Bard) for raid content, Not an offspec) Rogue (DPS) 5 Mage (DPS) 5

Good luck with your guild, wish you luck.

Only one thing I dont like on your whole write up is the pigeon-holed forced class structure without thought to any posibilities. I honestly thought the concept that a cleric can do no other job but be a healer went to the way side years ago. Seems you guys are attempting to bring that old, outdated playstyle back. Pretty much defeats the purpose of the souls in Rift all together does it? Warrior can only be tank or DPS, rogue can only be DPS or bard, cleric can only be healer, and mage can only be DPS. Your going to miss so much that way.

Well we have our recruitment that way for a reason.  It's not that we don't want clerics to DPS because that's far from the truth of our overall goals.   The forced class structure is to balance the raid with everything that's required in order to be successful in a raid environment.

Though I'm sure it could have been worded better to appeal to a more larger base of people, but "Cleric (Healing) 3 Cleric" could mean anything from a Sentinel to a Shaman/Justicar DPS class with support healing.  You can't raid without the correct amount of 1: Healers, and 2: Support heals/AoE healers.

Also, I'm not sure if you've noticed but for any successful guild to maintain any amount of raid progression would require their healers to well heal.   Take Justicar DPS for instance, it's not up to par with the rest of the dps classes in the game.  In fact, it's not even sub-part at best.  It's very low but the amount of raid aoe heals they came from a Justicar would make it worth taking one into our raids.

Like I said, we're going to be taking dps clerics into our raids but those dps clerics would require to have some form off support healing to be a valuble asset to the group or they could simply be replaced with something better, say a mage or a rogue.  This is also all based off of what we've seen of the game thus far, and for all I know Clerics end game DPS could be insane.  But I play a Cleric myself, and from what I can tell there is nothing special about cleric DPS that a "normal" dps class, Mage/Rogue/DPS Warrior couldn't do 200% better.

Also, a 100% pure bard is completely Irreplaceable in any raid.  They give so much to the raid it would be stupid of us not to have one.

Yes this game gives us many souls to pick from for a reason, and I'm not about to tell people what they have to play in order to be in our guild.  But there are also a lot of raiders out there that completely understand our goals and to be honest already play these classes we're looking for so it works out in the end.

We did state though right above the recruitment needs that they are suject to change.  If we find that there are clerics that can throw down some serious dps than clearly that would be something we would be interested in.
