Maintenance at 8PM eastern ?

Just bought the game and trying to register my key and i get site maintenance page about Feb 22 eh ?

Same here. The message I get says the maintenance was suposed to be at 8AM PST.
Ok it's launch day, the servers are up but we cannot register .... weird...
Waitaminnit.... you mean to tell me... a game is having technical issues... on launch day???? ZOMG! That never happens! It must be the end of the world!! AAAHHH!!!!

C'mon... seriously... this is nothing new. Whining about it here will not magically fix the issues.

The game ist not having any problem, only the account managament it seems. bad timing for guys like me who just bought the game and are back from work trying to register themself...
I didn't sense any whining. You're either misinterpreting, overreacting, or both.
People are trying to register, as I am, and there isn't anything indicating maintenance for right now, yet when you try and register, you get the Feb 22 maintenance message. If there is maintenance going on, fine. Does anybody know if they've posted a timeframe of when they think it will be ready?
I just wanted to get registered so I can patch while watching some TV. Do the Rift people have a twitter or something? I remember the Aion devs had a twitter and that helped alot with the communicaiton about launch day problems.
Edit: Looks like the account servers are back up. Was just able to register and I am patching now.
