Take this with a grain of salt as i can't find the actua link but i know (at least i remember seeing it) that they stated they were nearing the finish line in two different Dice Videos
They also stated they were going to increase the amount of people invited to test soon.
Like i said i don't have the links at the moment but i will keep looking, I know they are out there somewhere. Probably in a video interview (at leat the Dice ones are. The increased testers might be in a quote from a dev though)

Maybe I missed it. But has anyone seen any indication that they are ramping up towards launching this any time soon? You know the drill, increasingly amounts of users invited to closed beta, open beta phases scheduled, more or less full disclosure of the content/design of the game.
I really haven't and based on that I'm still saying 2012 at the earliest.
I don't think EA could afford pushing it back into 2012.

2012 seems a bit off, however I'm going to revise my initial take that was thanksgiving 2011 and dragi it up to around September 2011 as Blizzard seems to aim to launch Diablo by end of 2011. Considering you don't want to launch an MMO around Diablo III launch date.
For the people saying it will launch soon, I invite you to have a look at BioWare jobs opening. I might be totally wrong but it does not seems to point at a soon releaase.
Well, all official statements are that it'll release this year, so 2012 seems to be out.
As for when then, I'm still thinking Q3 the likeliest, with a small chance that it'll happen in May-June.
As for end of this year, I actually think that GW2 will be released later than SWTOR and come close to the D3 release, reading the info that's around, like the NCSoft presentation and such.
The ease with which predictions are made on these forums: Fratman: "I'm saying Spring 2012 at the earliest [for TOR release]. Anyone still clinging to 2011 is deluding themself at this point."

You are aware I am sure that Bioware has other projects running and upcoming besides SWTOR? I am sure they even have projects as yet unannounced. So, postings for job openings could mean almost anything and not mean a longer then expected release of SWTOR.
With that said, I would rather they release it when it is ready and not in any form of unfinished stated. Worst thing that could happen is for them to release it at the "expected" time and have a poor launch due to server problems or other untested and resolved issues.
The 'un-named source' is EALouse isn't it? The one that was dis-credited that no one in the media (that is reputable) is willing to cite as a 'source' anymore? Pure speculation that anyone can make since DA2 is coming out in a week and ME3 is scheduled for this holiday.
Gdemami - Informing people about your thoughts and impressions is not a review, it's a blog.
Everything I have read seems to point that the game is pretty much done. Testing has been going on since last summer. I think a May or June release and we may get a release date at PAX.
If you want to reply to this post, you don't need to reiterate all the other arguments that have been made in favor of SWTOR graphics (like "it is running on slower machines"). I'm not convinced by them, but since we have no reliable data, I cannot really argue against them. Also, it is fine with me if others like the graphics.

Mass Effect also has the benefit of it being a released product. :P
DA2 had awful graphics/animation when it was playable in alpha/beta last year but with the demo released, it really improved a lot (and DX11 isn't even fully supported on that demo.)
I suspect SWTOR will be similar, I don't expect it to be Crysis2 but it'll be good enough.

Yeah I've read similarly and I agree, Probably closer to the june side, with may only being two months away, which feels a little close to get hte date.
Eagerly awaiting the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Veteran of far too MMO's to count: EQ,SWG, EQII,FFXI,EVE,COX,CO,LOTRO,MxO,WoW, etc etc.. I just love the genre.
I wouldn't be surprised. MMOs are complicated things and delays are not a rare occurance.
Since the beta isn't up I think it is likely that the game is moved from Q2 to Q3 or even later but anything can happen. ANET is handling most of their testing in the alpha and Bioware might do the same so unless we get an official statement anything can happen.
I can see why the rumor started at least, most MMOs takes 3 months or more after the closed beta starts until launch. People have been talking about late april before and that is less than 2 months away and as far as I know isn't the beta up yet.
Is an interview with their live producer posted on the site last week, where he talks about how wthe external testing/beta testing a while ago.
From the paragraph just under the first picture.
"First of all, yes, we officially started external Game Testing a while ago, as some of you are able to confirm by your participation. "

Yep, started mid summer last year. They call it game testing...same thing really. You sign up, they send you an email. You click the link and download the client. Then test the game.
After the beta is complete, they will likely move to open beta which is purely stress test/marketing. After that release.

As for the leaks, they are or at least were around, BW is trying to be very careful with the NDA. They don't really seem to work the same way as other companies do. If anything major gets out before hand from a site or company they shut em down.

Yes, that is the beta application page but it does not really say that the beta already have started.
Sure, it might have but if it have it must be in really small scale because the only way to not get a thousand beta testers to blabber and post screens and vids is locking them up without internet connections.
I am not saying that I am sure it isn't going but I seen no evidence that it really started. To me it looks more like they hired in payed alpha testers to do most of the work instead.
Game Testing for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ is underway!
is hard to understand, it states it right there in case you missed it.
Crud, you are right. And after a web search which I been doing since the discussion started I actually found s ingle beta leak shot (or so the page say):
(Edited out, it might have been a bad idea posting it)...
I still stand to that the beta must be really small, less than hundred people for close to no leak besides a single screenshot to be seen.

You have not been looking hard enough. I have seen a ton of beta videos and screen shots.
Just for those that don't know, that character creation is old, before the overhaul.
As for the amount of testers? no idea, it could be small it could be big. I don't think big as in thousands as they tend to do more focus testing, but they are suppose to increase the size of testers when they get closer to release, whenever that is.

There have been tons of leaked videos and footage, none of which you'll find anyone linking here as its against MMORPG.com policy. I would say the game has easily been tested by multiple hundreds, the games been through friends and family and external gametesting, including 2 waves of testing invites that I know of, with plenty of confirmed testers saying they've been selected on the official forums.
There have been quite a few leaked videos and screen shots, all of which are pretty easy to find if you know where to look, and the videos show a lot of the the starting area quests, classes, and abilities that you don't see in the demos. I've watched them more than a few times.

Let's party like it is 1863!
I won't believe it until I hear it from the top.
Rift announced their game release date - what 2 months prior to launch?
Bioware could easily announce a release date in mid march, and still have a spring release.
I obviously can't prove the article wrong, but then again - who can prove it correct?
Just more speculation. We shall see though.

LOL!
I admit that it is a matter of style and of personal taste.
But nope, SWTOR is not up with the ME series, by far!
Mass Effect is true realistic, much different from the plastic stylized SWTOR look...
This is ME1:

ME 2 is even better.

Did it? I heard no date, no beta leaks, no nothing.
They did take applications a long time ago but that was the last I heard about it. It would be the first time in history noone leaked from a AAA beta.
