The Allods Online team announced at this week's GDC that Holy Charms are now free in the Item Shop. Additionally, there is no limit to the number of charms that players can purchase.
That’s right – Holy Charms are now completely free! They will now be available in the Item Shop for 0 gPotatoes, and there’s no limit to how many you can acquire! Shake off that fear of Tep’s Curse and engage in PvP like never before with unlimited Holy Charms!

There has to be a catch somehow. If holy charms are free then why even bother having them at all? If holy charms are free then why bother with a curse anyway since everyone can take holy charms continually with no charge? Why not remove the curse and charms from the game considering both are now ineffective if holy charms are really free?
There has to be a catch somehow, somewhere.
It gets people into the Cash Shop so they'll look around and see what's available. Had they originally started with this, it would be a good idea. Also, it might be something in the code that they can't take out without making big changes.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
I checked their forum and they made them free because their next upcoming patch is removing the charm or something like that.
Go in their forum and check general discussion sticky.
This is good news I might try it out now.
This has actually made me redownload and checkout Allods again, about time they started realising what they have with Allods and what it could be with the right changes.
Ultimately, Allods will never amount to that much because it becomes tired and fragmented very early on. There is very little immersion and identical, time-sink quests in areas which are bland and unexciting. Allods feels like a good game early on, but you'll lose that by the time you hit your 20s.
You sir are right, they are going to remove it. This is just damage control after all of there greed showing its ugly head. They must think americans are stupid too fall for another one of there schemes, all they are gonna do is introduce another death mechanic the minute the new patch goes live.
I always wondered why gPotato accepted Allods' hard cash-shop usage, while all other gPotato games don't have this 'forced cash-shop' upon you. Looks like gPotato finally is getting ready to change things and make it less forced and more fun to play. When that day comes, I'll return playing Allods again ;-)
1 thing I hate from this game is that I can't be an arisen warrior =/
I want to use an undead/mummy race!
Let me know when the incense can be through game vendor instead of the CS or the tedious daily quest. then ill come back. or even if the daily quest would give you more than one.
I do like the game but , i will not be playing till then.
Might go back and check it out. The devs were complete hard heads for the longest time about the death penalty. The game could have been a good game here in the states had the dev team/company not been such greedy frakkers.
Yep, incense killed Allods for me as well.
There is a quest where you get a daily incense... so you never really have to buy as long as you do the quest. The charms however was horrid. Good riddance
The game wasn't bad actually. If the whole cash shop thing is good again, then it will be a good pass-time F2P mmo.
When they fix the incense nonsense I'll consider telling my guild and we'll all return probably
