I'm used to sandboxes but in this case it seemed quite unfinished for me. Most of the time you are getting resource from junkyards and crafting useless things before building the basic tools to "begin to play". Maybe in the future it'll be good but I don't think it deserves more than an alpha status. It remains a lot of work to do in this game. There are villages, pvp.... yeah, but it lacks of content besides the crafting.
I compared the videos on youtube and the game itself, it looked pretty good in youtube but finally I get very tired of it despite of trying to love it. Sorry but I'm not trying to troll, I am simply regretful of having spent those $40
I'll rate it 4/10 but the community was good and the server had a good performance so I'll give it even a 6/10, but I wouldn't recommend this game.

Yeah, maybe come back when we build up the civilization and have established cities with quests. Crawling out of the cave is tuff stuff, but someone's got to do it.
That said, you should probably wait at least until the game has been released before coming to that decision because not everything is turned on yet.
Hey If you dont want it, I'll take the account. I got no spare moneys right now for games.
If you want to play Dawn of War 2 online with me PM me.
Wouldn't mind the account, myself.
Hmm.. once they turn on item decay there won't be any "useless things" - all the tools you make will decay with use and a toolmaker will need to constantly make new tools for his tribe. Imo this is the main obstacle to the forming of a "proper" game economy and making crafting really enjoyable. Weapons, buildings and containers will decay as well so they'll be in need of constant repairs and replacements.
Once this and animal respawns come into play we'll have the basis of "proper" game as it is envisioned. What we have now really is just a placeholder to toy with, try out different stuff and explore a bit.
Do you have a link to more info on that?
How fast is the rate of decay?
What happens if you have no way to replace/repair the container?
Are the contents of the container no longer secure once the container decays? Do the contents disappear?
That's a really odd and very important mechanic, so any information you have on that, please please share.

Its a shame that the game in its current state isn't for you. Understandable, it takes a certain type of person to play through the 'Alpha' stage as if it were a complete stage. For myself, I don't mind paying the money, because even in this early state, I find it vastly amusing.
I hope you find a game you enjoy, or even come back in a few months and see if its matured at all.

Look at update for February 13th:
"- Containers can be placed inside buildings. This will provide protection from decay. We are working to fix a few issues with placing containers through walls at the moment."
No one really knows how fast the containers will decay or what happens to the stuff inside. However this mechanic has two crucially important functions:
1) it clears the terrain from clutter. Can you imagine what would happen to the server if all the containers were immortal? In a month you'd have 10 baskets for a square yard..
2) It gives the FIRST REAL REASON to make a building! They're not just for show anyomre!
Personally I imagine that stuff inside a decayed container will get lost permanently (since it can't lie on the ground on its own) and that the quality of the basket itself will determine its duration - so being a master basketeer can be a very viable career option for crafters. I imagine that baskets will be repairable as well since repairs have been announced in this game already and it would be a huge hassle moving stuff from the old basket to a new one. But on the other hand.. who knows? We'll wait and see and all that...
Well, in fact I find League of Legends quite amusing. In a couple of months I'll be playing SWTOR too so I don't think I'll come back to Xsyon, but I hope you find it entertaining
No game will be foreveryone especially one like this. At least you tried it before making the decxission like many.

The person who is certain, and who claims divine warrant for his certainty, belongs now to the infancy of our species.
This makes no sense at all.
The game is already tracking and updating the conditions of ALL the objects in game as well as all the animals and their age, condition etc etc... The baskets themselves already have condition and quality attached to them. It's just a matter of turning on the world clock (or whatever they call it) which updates the state of all in-game items daily.
Container decay and subsequent removal from the game if left unattended only helps the server by slowly removing certain objects from the game and doesn't add one jot to the already existing server load.
/edit maybe your concern might be valid if that world clock would update all the items with each server tick... but from what I've read it will only update once a day, probably during the maintenance period. While this 1 tick/day might be all right for item decay and vegetation regrowth I feel that it is a bit too slow for animal respawns which are also supposed to happen at this time.. Hmm.. We'll see.
Agreed. It *seems* like it also makes house building absolutely mandatory.

It seems Xsyon is very much like Marmite - Love it or hate it.
Oh man, I got really excited and thought Marmite was an MMO I had never played. I goggle it to find out that it's a condiment :P
Put me in the "hate it" group. I was looking forward to PVP in Marmite Online
So far I have to agree for OP, not really the game for me it seems, however I do still have 2 months from launch to still try it and perhaps it will be more fun once we're "playing for keeps"

Wouldn't rule that out completely.
The MMO market is so saturated, one of these days Marmite might just be an up-and-coming MMORPG!
Archeage is the only sandbox game that I will touch. These low budget games like Darkfall, Mortal Online and Xsyson are not worth playing.
Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for clarifying
This is the kind of insight we need more of on these forums.

i sort of have to agree . i didnt want to be one of those people that judged first by looking at youtube or pics
so i went and spent 40 bucks via paypal . and ill tell you this , if somebody said to me " hey you want a refund "
i wouldnt fight them on it . but since its like crying over spilt milk all i can say is i spent 2 days in game gave it a fighting chance
and after that time i was followed bu t an immediate uninstall . how it has rating of 8.3 is beyond me .
i dont want to put down anybody whos into it so theres not much to say other then i dont like it .
somebody said its 75 % ready for release
id have to disagree , more like 50 % ready for f2p or maybe charge small sub fee not a 40 $ price tag and a sub . thats silly
if you got money to burn thats cool
I wouldn't judge the game based on right now. This is not a typical gameplay experience.

"Everyone who enter Arche Age, will start their journey to solve the mysteries behind the relationship between 12 forefathers and this world." says a popular Korean fantasy novelist who talked about Arche Age's main storyline. Other than humans, elves and dwarves, there will be 5 other races to choose from, most being very unique races.
There are no Elve's nor Dwarven Hero's in this game.
