My first game was my first love - Everquest in 2000, right after Kunark was released. For all of its faults (I do not miss intercontinental corpse runs), there were things that I have never experienced since.
My first real character was a Dark Elf Shadow Knight (DESK), and I was actually scared when running around in the dark in Nek Forest worried about getting jumped doing level 5 quests.
Part of it is that it was the first one - things that I would find annoying now were exciting then. There was no shared banking, so I found a safe hidden location near Freeport to drop my items and then quickly logged off and log on my alts. Crazy, annoying, but it got the adrenaline flowing over something trivial.
And how can I not remember a laggy tunnel with over a hundred people shouting out items for sale? That was a market!
Star Wars Galaxies, played from Beta to you know what.
Played others before it , and others since, but never had the same burning need to get back in game and crack on, so much to do, I believe the technical term is immersion.
Gemstone 3 was my first MMO as well, I remember playing when you had to pay for each hour online. Made so many friends and have never felt like being part of a community since that game. I played it for over 10 years....good times!
I ussually don't do many if any posts, but for this one I had to and it's probably going to date me, because I've played many games over the years. My very 1st MMO that I enjoyed immensly was called : Last Kingdom. It was put out by a little know company called Netamin, and for it's time I felt it had one of the best mining and crafting setups available. The company later geared itself more towards sports games, but I played it from start to finish. I had always hoped that someone would bring it back to life, but ofcourse some games just don't cut it, and I'm sure rewriting the code for this game to survive in todays market would be almost impossible. I even still have my original installation disk.

My first MMO love was PlanetSide; awesome game back in the day. The first MMO I played was Earth and Beyond (terrible game). Also, pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies was pretty awesome (and the 3rd MMO I had played), but I'd have to give the edge to PlanetSide. Can't wait for PlanetSide Next/2, and hopefully it can recapture the glory of the first one while improving on all the problems with the original game.
Everquest Online Adventures for the Playstation 2 was my first love. After that Final Fantasy 11, and then World of Warcraft Vanilla/TBC. Top 3 for me.
Well I guess I am dating myself. my first true love was Meridian 59. the first mmo as we know them. level was by how many HP you had. Where PKer first started oras we call PvP. I usest to play with my brother both of us on the same computer just used different ends of the keyboard, with two apps running on each side of thee Monster 14in screens that you could buy then. LOL
My first was SWG Pre-CU. I was in the military when a friend showed it to me. We stayed up countless hours farming for minerals and doing faction quests. The only game where I NEVER minded the grind. The people were fun the game was fun, buggy but fun, and I always had a good time.
My first MMO was Asheron's Call, and I derived many many hours of enjoyment from it, but I'd have to go with Anarchy Online, which I played from Day 1, even with the brutal launch, and stuck with for several years. Nothing has really duplicated that feeling since, although Asheron's Call 2 comes close.
First love was UO, Second love was SWG, third and current love that has gave me the feeling those two games once did... XSYON.
The game looks pretty amazing, but apparently I can't play the beta unless I pre-order the game. I don't understand how this became acceptable to people. Didn't Darkfall do the same thing?
Underlight was my first MMO. I played it off and on for a year or so, but never really got all that 'into' it due to the fact that it was SO RP orriented, and I just never got on that well with the other players.
My first MMO love would have to be Asheron's Call.
The first MMO that got me into MMO's was also the first one I played: Ragnarok Online. I played a low rate, 5/5/3 server for 2 years until it closed, and then reopened under new management. Since then there has never been a period of more than 2 months that I haven't been playing an mmo of some sort.

I've played many MMOs..but I guess the one that drug me in deep would have been EvE Online. One could say too deep. I left for my own sanity.

UO, it has taken me years to move on and really enjoy another game...
Remember Old School Ultima Online

SWG pre-NGE was my first MMO played and to this day remains my fondest dream of playing MMO's.
That's because there still hasn't been a better MMO made.
Make games you want to play.

The first one I played a lot was DAoC.
