So far the things i just mentioned seem impossible.

    1. Large scale open world PvP. The game's engine doesn't support such a thing. It fails to proccess several people in one place, using skills and whatnot. See AION sieges for an example.

    2. World instances. They wont remove them for the reason i mentioned above. It will cause major lag spikes to any machine, from dual cores with 4000 series gfx to i7 setups with 6000 series crossfired.

3.Damage and critical multipliers. Completely broken basic game mechanic. Level 45 Lancer in golden heavy armor while blocking gets one shotted by level 47 Archer.

I really wanna see you pull this off Mr. Knox.

    Good luck !

Aion doesn't use UE3, it uses CryEngine1, Lineage 2 on the other hand that uses UE2.5 if I remember correctly, uses massive scale open world pvp and it works pretty damn well if you ask me. So really, the engine has very little to do with it, I just think they won't go for large scale pvp because of the gameplay mechanics and the combat system which is more appropriate for small scale competitive pvp rather than zerg vs zerg. Just imagine a healer trying to aim his spells through the chaos of the battle, wouldn't make too much sense imo.

However, I do hope EnMasse follows through with their promises of more leniant pvp rules, where pvp is enabled for all areas outside the island of dawn. Also, tying owpvp into the political system, or allowing you to get pvp currency from owpvp would be nice.

I think your problem is that you think only OWPvP is skilled PvP, which is your opinion and cant be argued.

But TERA isnt targetted towards the OWPvP crowd. It just happens to have it. That said, En Masse plans to make PvP rules more lenient and make all areas outside the newbie zone PvP enabled on PvP servers. They are also talking about being able to declare war on other guilds. Seems like a significant step up in my opinion.

    Sup.

No really. How does adding a "right click, left click declare war" feature fix broken fundamental mechanics of the game?

One shotted on a heavy class with 25k+ HP? While blocking?

    Are we being funny here?

Oh and yeah, i do believe open world PvP requires more skill than some crappy 5 vs 5 or 10 vs 10 battleground.

However it is not "my problem" and definitely not a problem in general.

It what a big portion of gamers think.

Open world large scale PvP is just more fun.

You dont always get to fight the L33T premade group of Bill, John, Peter, Chris and his little brother Timmy who plays an overpowered "X" class that 2 shots you.

I meant all three changes together, but I see you didnt pay much attention to those.

I'm not going to lie, TERA is very gear dependant. If you are getting one shot through blocking as a Lancer then you very clearly need better gear. Not like gear in TERA is hard to get.

As for OWPvP requiring more skill....lol bullshit. Thats your opinion, and as usually people think their opinion is backed by 'a big portion of players'. I heard the same thing said by people who thought OWPvP shouldnt even be in games at all. I put as much belief into their 'big portion' as yours. I enjoy OWPvP, but I'm not going to say it requires more skill at all. It may be more fun, but more often than not it is ridiculously unfair level-wise or numbers-wise.

If you cant beat that overpowered X class in a premade, why do you think you can beat it it OWPvP? Because you have more people with you? That sure requires more skill.....

    Sup.

why so much bashing? I read your replies to peoples' comments, and still not certain who passes the 'expert' label for some to pick up..

You have quite obviously a very opinionated stand in this, which you are well entitled to..but bashing the game for it is kinda wrong,as they never meant to make it as you would 'wish' it to be..ever..on the contrary, they advertised it as being PvE friendlier..now no matter how one reads into this, one cannot expect what you did, isn't that logical? Someone tells me pve friendly,i won't go looking for open world mass pvp,why did you.

And if i know this, surely a 'hard core' member like you should..so why bashing? You can't say Tera is broken because as classes are OWPvP would be imbalanced..its not meant to have it..its not even meant to have constant PvP-on status outside pvp servers..why all this then?  Perhaps you should switch to Archeage forums and have a bliss discussing open pvp?

Read 2 or 3 of baggs post .. no matter how many fact bombs he drops and in spite of the fact that i may agree with some of his points.  He still sounds like a festering troll.  You fail in the "personable" aspect of debate team. FAIL POSTS FAIL

Why does a game have to limit PvP options?
Or force everone to hide in an instance to both PvP and PvE without lag?
Small scale competitive PvP doesn't mean you cant have large scale PvP as well.

    Zerg vs Zerg?
What is a Zerg?  200 people? 300 people?
Then Zerg vs Zerg practically means 300 vs 300.
Sounds like a fair fight to me.

I stopped after having read his first post and 4 line from his second post, is it me or this man will say anything!

We see further that this person has nothing to do these days. I believe it should apply as the author of articles on mmosite.
