I disagree about turning the sound off. The girl playing the demo is hilarious.

Looking forward to the game but the character models are so generic looking.

Generic? Why? Because it has people that actually look and move like real people? Isnt that a good thing? The character models look great. Just because its a fantasy game it doesnt mean all the characters have to look stupid and over-the-top like they do in most other games.

That underwater section in that video looks very impressive. I love the way light streams down through the water. Very realistic and pretty indeed.

Uhm a bit lame , I personally hate GW2 and the whole concept .... But not many of us are so blind that we cannot appreciate the graphics...

But then graphics are not gameplay.

The graphics look like a child's watercolor.  I do not find them appealing at all.  I much prefer the original GW graphics over this crap.

Can't say I'm worried about the graphics even if it does look worse than usual on this video.

No splash effects or wake when she was running in water, very fast underwater swimming, 1 minute underwater: try this at your local pool, swimming 25 meters undewater requires a good training already, plus permanent bent running as if she was dodging something, try running bent as she does and you can't breathe properly and will simply lose efficiency.

Devs need to leave their pretty graphic tools, leave their imagination aside for these basic things, and check reality before designing a "realistic" world.

    Actually...

Daniel Dociu said he was NOT going for a realistic look but rather a painterly look, IE everything is supposed to look vibrant and colorful. He has also said he is NOT going for Photorealism.

So really all you people complaining about it being "bad" are actually complaining that you don't like the art direction which makes you art nerds. Enjoy.

I'd rather say "gfx nerds".. This art nerd here quite enjoys what he's seeing...

They aren't trying to design a realistic world. How realistic can things be when you have fireballs coming out of your ass and talking plants and cats.

Personally I like the whole artistic painty look. It's visually satisfying, for me atleast.

So in a Fantasy game, you have to be able to swim underwater like a dolphin and run like you have diarrhea?

The girl is kind of annoying, but the view from underwater is glorious. Loving the rays of sun beaming down here n' there.

This video was taken during PAX 2010 when the game was first shown to the public. You also have to remember that this game is in alpha testing right now. Things like splash effects or wake will most likely get put in later when the game is fully-fleshed out, if they aren't already in (PAX East is in 1 week, so maybe we will get to see it there).

Well i prever the game a litros unreal in this aspect, i cant imagine how tedios ir would be if you swim at real life speeds or hace to breath every 30 seconds, and by the way this is Not the real world, there is magic and it can do anything. Other point is the alpha Status of the game
