A nice and fun class for pvp?

SararielSarariel Member UncommonPosts: 301

Curious as to what class is currently dominating in the battlefield.

Do meele have any chance against ranged?

Do ranged have any chance against meele? and so forth.

Saboteur class part of the Rogue calling is fun because you are a trickter dealing with bombs, traps, time bombs etc.

I have a lot of fun in the Warfronts in this game, so a disclaimer is that I am on a pve server and do no world pvp so I cannot tell you about that.

Anecdotally, when I play my tank, I have a lot more fun, but tend to die more. When I play my ranger, I will sometimes not die at all, or die maybe once an entire battle. I have gone three battles with one death total before. Also with my ranger I tend to be on the high end of dps scores.

That said, what I really think wins battles are healers. Mediocre dps and tanks with good healers, I feel, will win every time (assuming matched numbers and levels).

Especially in Codex.  Without heals it is very easy to get overrun.  Good healers will make the battle at the Codex tons of fun and almost a guaranteed win.  Unless the other side is healing just as well then it comes down to sheer firepower and positioning.

For classes, choose rogue or warrior for pvp...you wont be dissapointed in your options.

Stay away from mages all together. unless your content with one build having good pvp use, as a pet managment/healer.

Clerics have great utility, and some soul combinations are quite decent at pvp.

Bomb throwing rogue is probably the easiest to pvp with.

Well... Mages are good for PVE content but your right... in PVP they are pretty lackluster.

I just got steamrolled in PVP on my Mage but I do very good on my Warrior or Rogue. Sabs are really over rated IMO. I never have much problems with them and I even find when I use them I dont find Im any more powerful than on my Bard or Marksman.

Its a shame about the mage too - Necro, Warlocks and Chloromancers especially are awesome class designed and really useful. In PVP, unless you go Dom - you dont have much of a chance.

I suspect that Mages as a whole will be buffed in the future.

Necromancer is decent but I don't find it that great in PVP... what level bracket are you in?

PVE its beast mode but in PVP... I'd like to know more about your character as Warriors and Rogues usually faceroll any non-Dom/Chloromancer mage I've seen :X

I'm running a marksman/ranger/saboteur and I'm having fun with him in PVE and PVP.

Like some of the other guys have said, you'll normally be at the top end of the DPS and if you play smart you may be able to get away with very few deaths. That said, if a melee dps decides he's angry with me and gets in range...I'm in trouble.

Also agree with what some of the other guys have said about heals. If you join a BG without heals you are in big trouble, whereas one or 2 decent healers can make a team tough or impossible to put down. I've started speccing a Bard/infiltrator to try it out in PVP, but I'm thinking of rolling a melee healer (warrior or cleric) to see how it goes...currently they just seem impossible to put down.

    Huh?

What kind of Warriors are melee healers?

PVP in this game is horrible.  There is no benefit to it aside from gear.  The instances are insanely boring after 20 runs.

I was a huggggge fanboi of this game and hit major wall.  I am so tired of doing rifts and the pvp is insanely boring with just two instances.

While mages get roflstomped a lot, I play one and have a pvp build of pyromancer/archon/archmage and while I can get blitzed I can dish out a ton of damage and i also get some very nice stuns and maneuverablity with blinks and disarms.  It just takes a bit more experimentation to get the right build for your playstyle.  Same with PVE.  For me its why the game rocks so much, so many choices in just one calling.

Don't take this the wrong way - but i'm curious.

Did you rush to max level?  I'm assuming not, because you say there are only 2 PvP instances.  Right now, at lvl 35, I have 3...so I'm assuming you are in the 20s?  Or, are you max level and there are two for lvl 50s?

For a marksman/ranger/saboteur, what should most of the points be getting put in? Ranger i guess?

    Also is Ranger/marksman/bard a good idea? o.o
