Last night I helped 8 brand new players personally, there's a lot of people buying or trying out Darkfall. If you're not too fussed about the upcoming expansion it could be worth giving it a shot now.
Just bought the game myself. I really like it so far. I've only been ganked once(lost all my stuff but I was low in stats anyway) while gathering. There's been some assistance but nothing practical as of yet. I hope to get far enough to try the pvp but as of right now i'm just farming.
There is a LOT of new players running around in Darkfall. In fact, this is about as populated as I think I have EVER seen Darkfall. Especially tonight, I bet I saw 20 people at once in the small town of Sandbrook. For a world as big as Darkfall has, 20 people in that small starter town at any given time must mean the world has a lot of people playing it tonight.
This is great news for Aventurine, for the players of Darkfall, and for the foreseeable future.
Best of luck to Aventurine. Darkfall shocked me and is now a very impressive mmo, probably the best mmo for full loot PvP fans at this time.

He is actually correct. The best is coming in the future. New models and animations. Another update to the GFX engine to support DX11. More robes and armors to choose from and restrictions on said equipment. Ability to use med points to gain stats. A rework of the entire map and the ingame map will show who owns what (and maybe ability to claim whole areas like in SB? maybe).
The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
I do not agree. I think there might be a lot of new trial accounts being created every weeks, but only a very few of those players decide to stay. I have opened a couple of trial accounts myself.
During my first 14 days (about 8 monts ago) I really enjoyed the game (UO player here for 8+ years), but I realised that the population was too low (and the npcs spawns too rare and spreaded) to make things challenging for you or your small/medium sized clan.
I created a second trial account 2 months ago for the sole purpose of checking if the population was any better. I also decided to join NEW, which was the second clan in number of players in the EU server... but that just means that we had a total of 200 players or so, with no more than 15 or so active at any given time. Is that enough to have something to do every night with your clan mates? I don't think so. During those 14 days we did nothing interesting... probably, had I stayed longer, I would have the opportunity to see big fights, ships and so on... we only really happen once in a while... but the first impression I got wasn't great.
I still think that the biggest problem of Darkfall is the population. For what I saw, I think that no more than 200-250 players are connected to the EU server at any given time, and that is simply not enough. 400 players at any given time is what we had in the biggest UO shard in Spain about 9 years ago, with a much smaller world.
Darkfall does not feel alive. During my last 14 days I crossed the map from side to side, about a 2 hours walk, without finding a single player and perhaps 2-3 creatures. Not really challenging.
Nevertheless I think Darkfall is a great game. I will sub as soon as the population increases and stays at a normal level!

I just trained you up 5 points in the Paragraph making ability.

Sorry about that. I wrote that with an iPhone and something strange happened with the paragraphs (I edited my post now in the computer as it was intended). You were just too quickly complaining! :P

i just quit and uninstalled. love pvp part if only it was fair and made any sense. it's a huge gankfest and catching up to the point where one could be competitive will take months if not years of grinding
the game where macroing is "okay" is not a game worth playing
Crap. If you're good it's enough 2-3 months of playing to kill almost anybody...

I think your enthusiasm is great, but this thread is borderline SPAM.

What is the point of making these post now?
Wait untill the new gear and stat meditation patch. And if AV don`t fix the pvp grind, let the game die in peace.
