GRAPHIC CARD QUESTION, PLEASE HELP

Hey Im getting a new video card and im either gonna get the Radeon x800 pro 256mb agp or the Geforce 6800GT 256mb agp, which one is better, im gonna be playing HL2, Doom3, Quake 4, Oblivian, EQ2, WOW and tones more. Please someone help me with my question, thankyou.

    well the x800 is more powerful

    BUT

    the 6800 ultra has better drivers

    Personally, I'd go with the 6800 ultra.

    Murt, the 6800 is more powerful. You clearly did not see PRO. 16 pipelines [6800] >>> 12 Pipelines [X800 pro]


    The 6800 is the overall better card

    Ya the 6800GT is by far  better than the X800pro. It even beats the X800 'at its own game', Half-life 2.

    Do you think the 6800GT will play all the games i listed on 1280res maxed graphics?

    Aside from WoW, you generally wont get 60+FPS consistently if you play on that res. It will still be playable, but youll see it dipping to around 40FPS the odd time. I played HL2 on 1024x768, with max AA and AF, and it rarely went below 60. The only times it dropped that low were either when there was a LOT of action on the screen, or in the Canals when there is a lot of water.

    True, but I believe the elusive 6800 Ultra Extreme is more powerful than the XTPE, dont hold me on that though image Besides, the XTPE and the Ultra arent even comparable cards, which I see a lot of people doing. GT against the Pro, XT against the Ultra, and XTPE against the UE is how it should be.

    Yet you can get a BFG tech 6800 gt ultra 200 dollars less than an X800 XT Plat for practically the same performance, yet, better cooling.::::39::

    9600-100-150
    9800-120-175
    6600-120-150
    6800-250-500
    X800-300-600

    This is a very broad range of cards without their models but it gives you the idea.
