They are way off the mark on this one. They should be releasing information on next months content roughly a week from today. Either they'll push next months content back again, or they'll cut the valentines day content short (which they should do) but its obvious they didn't plan on having to fix all of these issues this month.
Seriously, the amount of exploits and issues they've had over the first month needed fixing. They chose to output everything in one single patcfh rather than employ hotfixes as issues came up... likely because of the approval process for the PS3.
That the patch took nearly 2-3 weeks longer to get out than they were probably planning does harm the game quite a bit, but in the end, if the problems are fixed, it will be worth it to me at least. I won't be resubbing next month if they don't release content much closer to the monthly renewal date. This months new content will only be there for a week before I have to renew again.... this should not be the norm for a game saying their monthly content should keep people resubbing.
Yeah, March 11th'ish means it should start rolling to testing by the end of this week. And really, that should be enough time to catch up, so we'll see.
What I don't get is how it took this much time for their 150+ man staff to get this 'holiday' patch out. I understand PSN is the scape goat, but really, that's a HUGE staff for a game. The content should have been more than a holiday event and new quest.
This delay crippled them and gives them a black eye, but again, as you said, if the patch address and fixes the issues it's supposed to, they may just be able to salvage the game. Worse things have happened and a fun game makes forgiving and forgetting a lot easier.

How about a new race, new duo and new raid? It WASN't Just the holiday event and the quest. A lot of much needed bug fixes came and also some new ones Omac was bugged for me tonight and I hated that they removed the leave button from the alerts menu. Adding / to open chat is hardly the fix chat needed.

The raid was already being tested in beta, but didn't make it for release. Pretty sure the duo was also.
I think the whole point of the matter is the game should have never been released in this state. Seriously, people were posting here and warning others about SOE's customer service and response times to in game issues long before the relase. I wished WB would have gone with a different host to produce this game. It all boils down to the first month. If gaming companies don't get their act together the first 30 days it's over. Stay tuned for server merges due to a disappearing population.

You're dreaming.
They won't "merge" servers this year (or next) and I would be shocked if you even saw a PAID "character transfer" option available in 2011. SOE reacts far too late. I also recall reading a post on the o-boards from a Dev or RadarX, stating there would NOT be a character transfer option this year.

Nah, I see paid transfers coming before the year end. I'd give it 6 more months actually. Some of the more die hard players are rerolling on the more populated servers, but for the most part you have whiners complaining they don't want to regrind 60+ skill points, and I don't blame them.
We still have exploits, and they are fairly common, it makes it tough to keep going when you play legit.
PvE players might not be bothered with it much, but PvP players are being extremely vocal about it both in game and on the forums. I've gone down to playing about an hour every other day or so, spending most of my time in Xsyon until something more exciting brings me back to DCUO or one of my new awaited titles launch.
check that out, theres billions more out there too..Sony is the only company that can break more with each patch then they fix.what second or third month? third patch? most of the servers already dead...yeah sounds to me like ppl have legitimate gripes and sony just got stuck with a few fan bois that cant afford the good mmo's after wasting money on soe's junk.

That left a lot of time to work on other things.
