Actually, there has not been much more information floating around than what you allready posted... Informationcontrol seems very thight with Funcom these days, so we all have to wait for more news about the features of LE.

Maybe you will find something "new" in my quote of an newsitem from AO Vault:

E3 preview of Lost Eden in brief

Be sure to take a look at the information and images on IGN for Lost Eden, Anarchy Online’s next expansion in the works as there are some cool pictures of the ‘mechs’ in development(more on that later). I was able to snag a spot at a presentation for the expansion at Funcom’s booth at this year’s E3.

Many details in the expansion have not been set in stone at this early stage, but the premise is that the Clans, Omni-Tek and the Neutrals are rolling out the ‘big guns’ to take the fight back to the aliens introduced in the last expansion, Alien Invasion. The new weapon systems brought online include massive orbital battle stations and impressive looking mechs. As the new weapons of war are introduced to fight the alien threat, the lure of turning those weapons on each other become too great to resist…

Shown in presentation are new texture upgrades. The new textures are in high resolution and Rubi-Ka overall looks much more lush and vibrant. It brings a much needed graphical facelift to the game that has been around for almost 4 years now.

The orbiting battle stations’ will provide large scale player versus player (PvP) engagements as the sides fight each other for control of the station. They will be able to use mechs and static emplacements such as turrets. Winning control the station will provide passive benefits and the ability to command the battle station’s weapons to fire on planet-side targets much like an ion-cannon.

A major combat mechanic that will be introduced are the mechs. A player piloting the mech will take on the mech’s stats. If the mech is destroyed, the player piloting it will be killed as well. This evens the playing field out in PvP between the different professions whose survivability in large scale battles can vary wildly. (Bureaucrat vs Enforcers anyone?) There are plans to allow players to use the mechs on Rubi-Ka tower battles as well as the Shadowlands, though the mechs will be a creature mount to stay in-line with the metaphysical aspect of the area.

Players will finally be able to board the massive alien motherships in orbit and take the fight back to them. The aliens themselves will not take this sitting down as they too have developed new weapons and mechs to fight off attempts to board their motherships.

An aspect that was touched on during the presentation is that each faction will have the ability to research technologies. There were also hints of new passive bonuses that can be trained. The details are still sketchy at this time on how and what they will do but this is definitely a very intriguing concept.

A special thank you goes out to Terri Perkins and, Znore for providing a sneak peek into Lost Eden. Even at this early stage the Lost Eden expansion looks very promising and will offer something for everyone with leaps forward in PvP and new content for PvE.

Sounds very nice. I might reactivate my old account and dust off my 209 shade to try this thing out.
Really hope the new pvp system will be different from the old one. AS wars anyone?
