The 3 REASONS why I'll be buying Rift...
Finished Cataclysm in December (full heroic, was waiting on guild for weeks to catch up, no thx)
Finished DCUO (70 skill pts, 2 lvl 30's, full Tier 2, nothing left to do)
SWTOR being postponed to like September.
I got to kill time and in the pile of crap the genre is stuck in atm, my choices are slim.

Why waste the money tho? If you wanna pass time there are thousands of free to play theme park mmorpg's.

That's what I thought.
I think that's a reasonable point. I've been goofing checking out a few of the less mainstream F2Ps. I seem to hit a wall where the investment of time and effort in the game vs. the reward of playing it just seems disproportionate.
GL in Rift. From what I've heard they've got a decent offering.
You will enjoy being in Rift. It is a good game where you will find plenty to do for your time and money.
The end game is being compared to WoW Vanilla difficulty with no casual nerfs that I can see happening anywhere. If you played WoW then you are going to be able to power level in Rift fairly easily. I might suggest you just skip questing beause it will be more of a chore then anything for someone like you used to end game style.
I clicked on this thread thinking I'd see some compelling examples of why the game is worth money.
All the thread turned out to be was examples of how much free time this poster has to play random video games and beat them within mere hours.
Well you thought wrong and sound jealous, but regardless thx for bumping my thread. My reasons are as compelling as they can be, cuz I know for a fact most of the gamers who are giving RIFT a chance right now are the same players who are done with their previous MMORPG's due to x reasons like lack of content, features and so on.
If you are one of those players who is still stuck in EQ2, WOW, LOTR or some of the many failed MMORPG's that came out through last 3 years and having fun then good for you, cuz its a proven fact that happiness does not depend on knowledge.

Well he specifically states he is going to quit when SWToR comes out, so I would not say fan boy. He just needs something to pass the time in the same genre apparently.
I'm an altoholic and not much of a min-maxer so I've been finding Rift extremely entertaining so far.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

I am a fan and can list legit concerns about the game:
1. Re playability of alts because of the limited starting zones. Every legit review has mentioned this.
2. The account security concerns. You log in with your e-mail and a password. Obvious issue here is once someone has your login e-mail they can brute force your password if it is weak.
3. Is end game too hard? Pretty organized guilds are starting to re-learn the word "dps check" when it comes to MMO's
4. Class balance? Will they balance it like you are used too. Trion so far does not seem to be over reacting to forum threads. Exploits are fixed pretty fast, but no major nerfs based on forums threads.

I dont understand how some people can miss this thread is a complete troll.
You also assume i dont play sub based games simply because i mention not wasting money when all you want is a game to pass time.

True, but to be fair there are numerous comments and reviews out there, and the game was available to everyone for free for a reasonable amount of time (especially considering the plethora of keys that we were provided to give out).
This isn't intended as a flame response.
This thread is basically encouraging negative responses without much actual discussion. Going to lock it.
