why do you need a laptop and not a desktop? For what you want to spend you can get a superior desktop that will last longer than any laptop in that price range..

newegg.com and tigerdirect.com are generally good places to do research on computer products. most games favor nvidia gpus, but dont count out ATIs. i think you will want to find a laptop with at least 1 SSD and try to find one with a 7200 RPM drive for storage and gaming. most laptops come with 5400 RPM drives. they are very slow at getting data for you. look for a laptop with a minimum of 3GBs of DDR3 RAM. My opinion, the i5 intel laptops are the lowest i would go there. AMD doesnt really matter at the moment, not until the release the new bobcat cpu for laptops.
hope what opinions i gave you will help. i could tell you to go get this or that, but i am not you and have different tastes when it comes to what i want and what i think is quality.

it sounds helpful but your opinion is resepected on the subject on what is a "good" buy so maybe some links.

Umm... I think Bobcat CPUs are already out. Either that, or DxDiag is lying to me.
They're not really for gaming, though. Llano will be AMD's gaming laptop APU.

You've got several choices.
1) Get something that is overpriced, doesn't run games well, or both. (not recommended)
2) Get a gaming desktop, not a laptop. This will give you vastly superior gaming performance at any price range.
3) Get a gaming desktop, and also a cheap laptop that doesn't run games well. This is appropriate if you want both a gaming system and a laptop, as getting the two together is cheaper than a gaming laptop alone.
4) Wait a few months for AMD to launch its upcoming Llano APU, buy a laptop based on that for $700 or so, and accept that you'll have to turn video settings down a ways in many games, and some processor intensive games will still be choppy.
5) Wait for Sandy Bridge motherboards to return, then buy a laptop with a Core i7-2630QM or Core i7-2720QM processor, a Radeon HD 6800M or 6900M series video card, and a 55-128 GB SSD based on a SandForce or Marvell controller. And then accept that you could have gotten better performance for cheaper in a desktop, and you'll have to put up with some serious heat and power issues.
SSDs are really great in laptops but I don't see one in OPs pricerange. Gaming laptops are generally rather pricy (count twice as much as a gaming desktop or more) and SSDs are still a pretty rare thing. OP might of course get a loose one and install it himself or get the store to customize it for him but it will be close to get it in that pricerange together with an acceptabel laptop.
Tip to OP: Are you sure you really need a gaming laptop? You get a good desktop for 900 bucks, then you can afford a IPAD or a cheap laptop for any mobile need. Gaming desktops are really expensive. Some people really needs one but only you can decide if it is worth twice the price.
dont really "need one"
just wanted something i could take with me to play wow / diablo 3
dont need anything crazy price, if im able to play wow full graphics then thats all i need

It depends on what you mean by "full graphics".
If you want WoW to run smoothly with most graphics settings turned most of the way up, but aren't aggressively trying to max everything, then wait for Llano, and you'll be able to get something good enough and well under budget.

I think, given your financial situation, your going to be more limited by finding a site that will accept your payment plan, than finding actual specs for your laptop.
You'd be better off getting a small loan from the bank than going through whatever computer sales companies "payment plan" happens to be. It will likely have much less interest, can be directly linked to draw payments from your checking or savings account (and often times, with an interest rate reduction if you use autopay option), and you get your choice to buy it from any site you want without restriction.
