GTA 4. Just happens to be one of my all time favorite games.
I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.
I havent tried GTA4 so can you give some reasons plsss? x.x

While my first reason might be dated, when this game first game out I had never seen explosions done as well as they were in this game.
I really enjoy the gritty story and characters. The comedy of this game is woven into the fabric of it, and makes for high entertainment & replay value.
I love watching the TV shows in this game, just another example of the humor. Going to stand up shows was a great addition to the franchise.
While the controls can feel a tad on the clunky side after playing a lot more recent games, I am still able to do exactly what I set out to do. I enjoy the cover aspect of the combat.
Missions are fun, and pretty varied for a game of this type.
Other than that, its got everything GTAs always have. Can you spend hours wreacking havoc and running from the cops while dropping grenades out of the window of the car going 110 to blow up the swat van on your tail? I can!

I feel like i warped back in time...
Buy both... you can get both games for under 30 bucks these days lol.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
Outside of The Elder Scrolls series of games (Which is more like an obsession instead of games to me lol), Saints Row 2 is definitely my favorite game of all time.
However, I also have GTA 4 and like it.

GTA 4 is nice, but I don't want hyper realism with a gritty world feel.
TLDR: If you want to have a game that's over the top and action movie style combat/car driving stunts/etc., go with SR2. If you want a deep, gritty world full of betrayal and realism... go with GTA4.
GTA 4 is a great game, you should try it. the longivity of the game is quite fair and fun factor is nice too. i bought this game several months ago and up until now, i'm still playing the game because i enjoyed it. i mean the fun factor will not let you down man.
the game also comes in sequel too if ever you managed to finish the game fast.
