Well here is my dream MMOPVP (fantasy genre) game features. I doubt I will ever see all of them inside the same game if I do I am there to stay *hint hint
Full Loot PvP- This gives death meaning and purpose, this causes people to do less stupid things.
Player City Warfare- Nothing like player city warefare having enemies coming into town wiping the floor with residents raping and pillaging.
Keep Warfare- (I want both cities/towns and keeps in the same game) Have keep warfare with a wide array with siege equipment boiling oil, battering rams, trebuchets, catapults, the whole nine yards.
Limited Perma Death- Once you die it’s for good and either a skill wipe needs to happen or you have to design a whole new character with a twist. You have 2hr-4hr period to find someone to rez you or your spirit (a player has to do it not an NPC) if you don’t because everyone hates you, or you simple could find one sorry Charile yous be dead. This will limit asshatery to a degree and also keep the more hardcore people in check. That army of noobs over the hill may be your doom. Congratulations you got written down in history as a blood stain.
Restrictions on Rogue/Bandit players- If they decide to kill their own race or allied race they can’t go into some city for evil/thug players and call that their home. They are on the run out in the world because no one wants them. They are murderers/bandits. Perhaps give them a 20 slot mini vault or some limited storage space opposed to a full bank system so they can have some limited storage, but a penalty none the less.
No All Race Clans- Sure players can join with alliance races like dwarf ,elves, and rudy humans but you shouldn’t see orcs and dwarfs running around together.
5 or 7Factions- Sure 3 factions is good enough and you should always have an odd number to keep the bigger players in check but 5 or 7 would make things a bit more chaotic and keep things interesting.
No cross race/ally communication- Not even tells. An orc shouldn’t be able to send a tell to a dwarf warning him of an invasion from his kind this defeats the purpose. This also eliminates (or at least limit) the whole he/she is a spy mentality. Also in social chat the words should be jumbled up so an opposing race can’t understand what the other is saying.
Perm Destruction- If you destroy something in a town it is gone for good or till someone rebuilds it. Examples a wall, a gate, a pig pin etc…
Player Designed Cities, Towns, and Keeps- Let the players build whatever fortifications they deem fit. No more pre-built stuff that you gather resources for click a button and poof it’s built. Let the player’s imagination run wild. If they want to build a "Wall" straight down the middle of the continent let them. Not to say some opposing race won’t come along and destroy it or make a whole in a strategic location that benefits them. Also the building of fortifications would still require resrouces just things would be designed by players. Have some pre-built things like walls but allow the players to adjust the size shape and direction of things.
Other Kinds of Combat- Ship to Ship Combat, Mounted Combat, Aerial Combat (think gyrocopters or hot air balloons)
Multiple Races- At Least 5 or 7+ races would like more it adds more to the political intrigue and players love options.
Skill System and Cap- Experience gain is determined by skills earned not levels. And putting a cap on it increases player diversity. If you can do it like SWG (pre-nge) did and have 30,000+ class combinations my hat goes off to you.

People would not play this for a number of reasons
Maily that people would be total a$$hats and gank players to kingdom come and with limited perma death a full loot players would turn off in droves

It's not ment for the casual explorer, quest collector, theme park roller coaster pvp player. It is designed for the sandbox players that appreciate honest to goodness pvp like your DAoC,UO,DF playerbase. If you like your scenario queing pvp this would'nt be designed for you.
PvP would be even more of a gankfest than Eve is. No-one would have balls to do anything.
I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been -Wayne Gretzky
It would be ruined by griefers before open beta even started.
I'd give it a try.
Not sure about points 7 and 8 mind you.
"Come and have a look at what you could have won."
Sounds terrible... good effort.
This wouldn't be a sandbox. Not with a ruleset like that.
It would be a 100vs100vs100vs100vs100 team-deathmatch map with constructable objectives that never ended.
We are the bunny.
Resistance is futile.

This sounds a little like EVE mechanics in a traditional fantasy setting. Replace the frigates with suits of armour, cruisers with horses, stations with keeps.
With a very few exceptions.....this shoulds a lot like Darkfall.
NO! to any sort of "Perma-death" unless you don't have in game skills to earn over time.
And......why does it always have to be a "fantasy" setting? How about something a little more original or different.
Let's party like it is 1863!
Just give me a DAOC 2, or better yet, revamp the engine, graphics, and interface on DAOC and call it DAOC 2. That'll be my dream PvP/RvR game. DAOC was the bomb during its prime. But without necessary upgrades, and the fact that Mythic sold out to EA, the franchise is not going to go anywhere. Like it or not, DAOC had RvR right. It had every little details right ranging from keep siege, to relics, to group vs group warfare, to raid vs raid, to persistent battlegrounds, to Realm Ranks & Abilities, to positional attacks, to 3 realms, to separating PvE from PvP, etc..
It would be a game that can easily be in the top 3 MMO in the U.S. Unfortunately since Mark Jacobs quit, Mythic sold out to EA, this will never happen again. Bleh.

Darkfall had a lot of things I liked and a lot of things I didn't. (highlights of the didnt's would be ARAC clans, Rogue players to do pretty much everything a non rogue player could do. It needed to be a bigger penality system in place, player housing and cities/hamlets couldn't be designed by players cookie cutter plans, no skill cap and a few other things that weren't exactly right with it). it was decent other than that.
And to answer your last question because it's my dream game and I want one in a fantasy setting that's why :P
Time to grow a pair then This isn't your family friendly pvp this is ball to the wall all type of pvp.
I guess so :P
I think I would like something that had frontiers like DAOC....but old frontiers, not the new lame one where you could insta teleport everywhere. The new keep styles were cool though, where you could bust down walls as well as doors. Get rid of the fast travel teleport BS and it would be cool. I hate the lemming fest.....run into battle, die, release, run back in 30 seconds..bleh. Total Zerg Fest. Now, when you had rez sickness and had to run 20 minutes through enemy territory to get back to the fight you had REAL battles, with strategy and an actual winner of the fight.
Instant gratification PvP sucks. (i.e. warfronts, scenarios, battlegrounds.) They are an ok diversion for a minute, but not as the main PvP
Actually, now that I think of it, you know what would be cool? Faction PvP like DAOC....no bs scenarios and what not.
then....wait for it...make all the stupid scenarios same faction battles. Guilds on the same faction could go play war games against each other, or even random groups made up of your factions memebers. THAT would be better. You could kick the crud outta each other, then team up and go take the other factions keeps.
Any FFA PVP player-base is hard to keep as a AAA game and thinking of adding perma death would definitey make it an indie game with hardly any players but sounds like a hell of a good time and I would try it.
Hopefully people ascend in 2012 and stop being afraid of FFA PVP games.

I like the ideas. I would add a twist though. The game would not be centered on combat but rather building (ie. builidng that fortification, town, empire etc) and holding it. Combat would be a part of that of course. Keep the perma death but let the player's main character be a lord or something. You could play as the lord but most often you would be controlling an underling which could be any class. Also, the combat would be not be individual but squads or even larger military units. Depending on the main char's level, you could have many underlings in your stable of characters. Throw in some politics and make the player pander to the unwashed masses- i.e. you have to keep the peasants and the other nobles (players) on your side. The main characters power would be measured not in items (although that could be a small part of it) but rather in land, wealth and number of followers. Allow offline training to avoid grinding to bring followers up to level. Throw in some Civ. features like technology advancement and you would have an empire building MMO with a realistic economy and warfare.
Not into the whole conquer the world thing? Allow players to be merchants or crafting oriented and make their contribution just as valuable as the combat oriented players.
I would love to see any kind of MMO that really focused on players building things but still allowing for the risk that comes with playing in a dangerous world. I doubt any of this will ever come to fruition though.
They are not afraid, it's just not the kind of game they'd like and given most everyone has a limit to how much they can spend on games they may or may not get their money's worth from they're going to find what fits them best. With all the websites, forums like these, and trailers these days, betas and previews (free trials) people today have a much better idea of the content of games before they go into it than say when UO or Everquest was new.
Alot of restrictions here and the ones you wanne sound harsh are easy to work around like the perma death.
Restrictions on classes lol?
Not that i would play a game with classes like yours but restrict is even worse.
Towns that players build should be after while not hard to be destroyed by other clans, but not so easy to rebuild, what you manytimes have now is when a game launched world is prestine and everywhere you see slowly build towns by players when thats done its done forever.
You wont see ever a town destroyed completely anymorea and see the rubble you ones saw when game was launched or empty clanspots. That takes out clans build there own towns already after few months after then clans NEVER BUILD towns ever anymore feater is gone no more town building but game pretent it have clantown building while its not true after few months only simple repair.
Full red server no savezones no alignment pure free for all players make up politics ANTI vs RPK thats what i wanne see not dumb alignment system Darkfall have and insane starwars towers that kill you.
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
