Worth it?

Okay, I have never played EQII but I want to get it. I have a few questions.

1. Do you have to pay monthly? And if yes, how much each month Canadian?

2. Is the first month free?

3. When you buy it from the store is it worth the money?

4. Does it lag (like RuneScape, Tibia, etc..)?

5. Can there ever be a connection failure?

6. Does it have to load seperate parts of the world like RuneScape?

7. Is the city big?

8. Are there shops? And if yes do you have to wait for it to load when you enter them?

Well, those are all my concerns... also when the questions are answered or even before they are can you write your feedback of the game to me? Thanks.

Wait a few months and pick it out of the bargain bin for $9.99. The game is fun till you get to level 20 then it just becomes the same crap over and over.

    1. yes, its around $15/month USD (standard for MMOs) so i think around $19 CAD
    2. yes
    3. depends on who you ask, for me and many others...yes
    4. not really
    5. yes, there can be in any multiplayer game
    6. yes
    7. yes 2 very large cities
    8. yes, there are NPC merchants and a player system sort of like EBAY, but you dont have to load for either

    Feedback:

You sound like you're new to subscription-based MMOs, but if you're willing to put down the $15 a month I would deffinitely say go for it. It's about $30-40 (USD) depending on where you get it (at least where I live) and as I said the first month is free. So whats the worst that could happen? You try it for the first month and decide you don't like it, you lost a wopping $30 and you never have to spend another peny if you dont want to. not really a big deal. however, if you DO like the game and decide to keep it (like me) then you're in for a lot of fun.

Schutzbar - Human Warrior - Windrunner Alliance - World of Warcraft
Nihilanth - Kerra Paladin - Blackburrow - EverQuest II
    XBL Gamertag - Eagle15GT

    1. Yes monthly. I dont know in Canadian currency. It's 14.99 U.S. DOllars here

    2. Yes

    3. Yes

    4. I only have some lag issues in Qeynos Harbor and North Freeport. I have a gig of RAM so it's not that bad. When I had 512 Ram I had the settings on medium and that killed the lag a lot.

    5. Never had it happen to me. If the servers go down (5 am EST whenever they do) they give you a two hour warning with half hour increments of warnings.

    6. Yes. The city sections are Zones. However the larger parts of Antonica, Commonlands, Zek, Enchanted Lands, Lavastrom (sp) and Everfrost are one big zone.

    7. Very. Both cities are very large.

    8. There are tons of shops and no you dont load to enter the shops. However, you tend to get better merchandise from player made items located int he broker in various parts of the city and villages.

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

1.Canadian gamer here myself, but I baught the 90 day game card which cost me 59.99 The game itself was 29.99

    2.Yes

3.Should be 29.99(cnd) at EB games so look for it there unless you get it cheaper at Wal-Mart.

    4. Depends on the system you run on and if your on cabel/dsl. If you have at least 1 gig of ram and a 128mb video card it should run smoothly.

5.Think that only happend to me once so far but it was wired cause my screen froze so I had to reset my computer to start it again. When I came back into the world the person in my group said it showed me as "linkdead" I explained what happend and the other guy in the group said something like that happend to him to once. So going LD might make it look like your computer is frozen.

6.Yes, Every time you zone into a new part of a city it'll load it. It loads pretty fast on my computer though.

    7. The city I started in, freeport is very big and the game only comes with one map of the two starting cities, freeport on one side and qeynos on the other. The game has in game maps which sometimes help.

8.There are mechants/shops, just double click on the doors to enter them, no loading. Most merchants will be standing at outside stands though so you just have to click on them

  • Okay, thanks guys (: 20$ a month.. ouch. huh.....I always laugh when people can't afford MMO subscriptions.

$15 per month = fifty cents per day. I LOSE more change out of my pocket every day than that.

    Anyway, back to the game...

there is free demo called trial of isle, download it and try yourself, if it will lag full game lag much more so upgrade computer if you will get enough cash, or try decreasing details... if later wouldnt do much and first is out of option you would be forced to leave this title for some time

oh and "Wharg0ul" this only show your lack of intelligence, from his statment it was clearly shown that he is a kid and parents give him some $ monthly or he have some kind of work and mister "wise" 15$ is monthly earnings in some countries so you laugh that they dont earn as much as you? This say a lot about you... really do... in other countries 150$ are monthly earnings and 10% of this amount is quite a lot but you laugh as you have much more yes? You think that your country is one and only one on this planet? But i think i waste my time trying to tell something to such person as you... it just wouldnt get to you through your shell...

sorry to all other forum members for this flame i just cant resist when i see such "person"

I'm guessing you live at home or have settled on a career, but for alot of us 50c + 50c + 50c + expenses add up. I know for me as a college student and part-time worker while 50c might not seem like alot, when you throw in the core expenses (random drinks at the pub, cell, rent, food, gas) you're not left with alot of money to blow on monthly subscriptions.

Take a pill, man. All he needs to do is mow a lawn or two and "boom"....mmo money. It's not much, and If I remember right he lives in Canada, which is not exactly Ethiopia ;)

AND.....yeah, I'm a mid-30's professional with kids, wife, the works. I'm not exactly rich, and gas prices are making business expenses rather painful...but even I can afford .50 per day.

It's not a lot of money, and if anyone, kid or not, had the ambition to bother, one or two odd jobs per month would pay for it easily. Mow a law. Shovel a driveway. Rake some leaves. If you want something, GET IT.
