Quests in BP

I am kind of confused as what to classify Black Prophecy as. I know it isn't AS involved as EVE but I know there is a big crafting system but what is the progression in the game? Is it huge quest chains, and is there any player driven content? Anyone in the beta that can clarify any of this?

Have Played: FFXI, WoW, Aion, DCUO
Waiting For: TSW, World of Darkness, SWTOR
Currently Playing: KOTOR
Tried: Matrix Online, Rift, Xsyon, LOTRO, EVE, Guild Wars

Sup Jenks, I, too, want more info on this game.

AS I understand it, 'Tie Fighter' comes to mind...which i kind of miss. Open-navigation space shooter with lots of capital ssips blastinghte crap out of each other and me flighting around it all (a la 'Return of the Jedi').

Hey there! Yea, I am tired of quest hub games, and want some action in my games. It would be cool if there was a pretty involved crafting system with some player driven content.

Prologue is story driven and i thought a decent story too even giving a reason to choose a faction.

After prologue it seems to have lost this with some quests from stations alaong a similar line but so far nothing going towards the story started in the prologue(not sure if it'll pick up again later) mixed with a fair amount of kill x quests.

Aswell as these there are the terminal mission to grind through.  They seemed to have tried to give these a bit of variety, but the don't really seem to have succeded and most of what you do is kill mobs in different backgrounds.

Space is really open, but sectored.  Personnally i think the sectors are a bit on the small side.

Haven't seen any player driven content but does have clan sectors.

Crafting involves the use of 3 sets of items.  Blueprints, parts and resources.

So far i've only found blueprints in mob loot and seem pretty rare am lvl 10 and have 5.  They come in varying  stacks i.e. 2 blueprints in one stack 5 in another and u use one each time you craft.

Most parts are bought from npc dealers with a few as very rare drops so at level 10 i've only been able to loot one much needed item and therefore only crafted a shield.  Not sure if they'll add these items somewhere in later, or in the cash shop or leave as extremely rare loot.

Resources are gas, metal and plasma and drop from mob kills with a few as mission rewards, typically around 2 of one resource  per drop so far(when they drop).  And u need x amount of each per craft.

As you expect the number of each item needed in crafting increases with the level of the item being crafted
