Their success depends on teamwork and skill – will they prevail?

Check out the video here.

I have to admit, I am NOT at all impressed by this vid. Especially with the revolutionary dialog system they have in place.

The dialog seems way too 'me-ccentric' and generic. (ie: characters saying me instead of us when refering to their roles in the mission). Am I being nitpicky? Sure, but only because this feature is supposed to be what separates TOR from the pack...

    Combat looks meh.

The developer narrarating needs to take acting lessons BADLY.

I am very impressed by the gameplay that this Bioware team has made. If they announce A preorder soon, then I'll use a portion of my upcoming birthday money for this. I love the Star Wars IP, even more so then Star Trek, I look forward to this very much.

Please Bioware, you're my only hope,

Well when making a choice its open to everyone. To say "us" wouldn't be right since you don't speak for everyone. There are times the character does say "My group" i think, i have heard it but for choices saying "me" makes sense.

Combat looks good, a nice flow and didn't notice once him standing around waiting for abilities to cooldown. The normal attack makes it much faster pace since auto attacks are generally slow, good to see it replace the auto attack :)

Anyone notice the troopers voice? Either Varrick has morphed into a human and can travel to different universes, or its the same voice actor :) (You'll know this if you play/played DA2)

    Jimmy is right,

You are choosing what your character would say. You get faction points on your decision alone, not what the group chooses. Therefore, "me / myself / i" are correct.

The story then proceeds with the highest result from the RNG. Granted, maybe it’s not exactly revolutionary, but it will let you play your character how you want without penalizing an entire group.

This is a pretty small Dungeon.... not gonna bitch since it seems it's not end game...

But I hope end-game dungeons are a little meatier... longer, maybe "wings" (left side right side etc...) with bosses for each (so more bosses)... more complicated bosses...

Maybe like more dialog situations within the encounter....

It does seem like every single chartacter is "darkside" the way they're all like "Don't worry... I can do this solo w/o armor" or "Believe me Mr.NPC, you're lucky to have ME in this PUG"... seems like it would be better if you'd hear more stuff like "Rest assured we will do everything we can to help"

I'm very disapointed at the lack of info that came from PAX

    • No release date

    • No beta info

    • No pre-order / CE info

    • No further guild info like ranks or anything

    • No server type info, which guilds are expected to pre-select

    • No Derelict Spaceship Warzone info even if we were promissed the reveal was coming soon...  4 months ago.

    • No Open PvP info.

    • No new racial announcements (the racial selection is VERY limited)

I think this was mostly suppose tob e hands on game time rather then learning a lot of new things.

As for the flashpoint itself that was the first 40% so theres more to it then what you saw.  Most people wiped on that one boss at the 40% mark.

    As for the other info.

No release date, no beta info, no pre-order/ CE info no open PvP info and no New racial announcements, yeah i'm kind of bummed they didn't give these but like i stated above this most likely was just a hands on preview, so people could play the game for longer then 15 mins and see some mid level content (the flash point)

As for the further guild info, there is info out there about guilds, they even showed a picture of two  of the windows from them.

As for the server types. theres PvE ande PvP types. known for several months actually.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

Didn't look too hard, but maybe that's because the group already knew what they were doing.

    Looked good other than that.

I think the game looks amazing. It even has a slight SWG feel from the landscape to the character art. But then again that could just be the whole Starwars aspect.

They did say that players only saw Half of the flashpoint and that the entire flashpoint was nerfed because of people being new to the game and player skills ect.

I noticed alot of people skipping through dialouge just to see content, just like they said you have 45 minutes to play what was later said to be at least 50 minute run and most groups wiped before or at the boss. I heard only 1 group killed the boss but that was on saturday and i havnt looked much more into it. And maybe the players that you saw wanted to be darkside, I know that in the dev talks when asked to cheer for either republic or sith there clearly were more sith in the crowds then republic, but who reallys knows right?  Rebels are scum anyways :P

Betas still in closed and bioware's tract record dosnt show alot of open betas, however with any mmo its needed and im sure after the EU beta starts youll start to see more

Also about the whole release date, somewhere on the bioware fourms ( very recently posed ) they say that an annoucment will come hopefully shortly after EAs fiscal earns post? whenever that is. Im not going to search for it but it isnt hard to find on the swtor fourms.

We know that guilds have officers as stated in the guild post. Thats a rank, im sure bioware being the smart people they are will have other ranks available. Really though, its just standard stuff.

They did talk about the current beta testers saying they would like to see Spaceship pvp and that it may be available at launch or shortly after. Dont quote me on that, thats how i took the QA questions. Do some research and watch a video or two. The tops Swtor forum on mmorpg has a sticky with alot of pax videos.

Open pvp info.. common if we have pvp servers there will be some sort of open pvp, its like everyone expects to be spoon fed all the info before the game is ready to come out. Wait and be suprised. Geez. Isnt half the fun waiting to play then being blown away with how much better it is than youd hope for? If you get info you want now all people will do is nitpick and try to tell bioware how terrible a decision is and how they can do better. Just chill and wait

QA's did answer a few questions on playable races and possible races. Watch some videos :D

Just my opinions though and we know everyone has them

Combat looks so poor in this game it's almost depressing.

Did all you fan boy's watch the combat at all? I mean I didn't see a sense of urgency in the combat, no need to move, strafe, take true cover, panic if under focused fire...nothing.

Smuggler sat there all nice and stiff. That = boring.

Consular has a lightsaber yet sits in the back and grabs not environmental objects to throw like you'd see in DC Universe, but rather imaginary objects pulled from the ground and yeah the same object each time. That = boring and unimaginative.

The guardian looked fun, however combat was extremely slow even there. I mean if your trying to capture the star wars feel...this is not it. Just watch the trailers they've put out. High intensity action with lots going on. This so far is not even close to that.

Now if you just want a wonderful slow paced version of WoW with Star Wars skins then yeah...captured that just fine.

You misunderstood me on that point. Of course we know about PvP/PvE/RP servers...

But we have no ruleset for PvP and PvE server... "PvP server" is more than a label... the question is:

"How do the rules differ on a PvP server?"... is it completely open? I mean they already stated that there would be no lvl 50 ganking level 15s no matter what... so how is it handled?

Dude... I don't want to buy a game and "discover they have open PvP"... this is a feature... not a freakin easter egg. I am with a very large guild and selecting the server type to pre-register our guild with their program right now is problematic because of the lack of info.

As for the races... name a previously unannounced race or stop making appologies. I can watch 50 more videos you know full well they have made no such announcements.

Heh, funny. It goes to show how different preferences can be from one MMO gamer to another.

Like the PAX info: they already stated that no release date would be announced, so I didn't expect any. I couldn't care less about pre-order info - I mean lol, what's the big deal when I can order or not, christ - detailed guild info doesn't interest me, I've learnt that the differences in guild implementation from one MMO to the other are too little to make the differences meaningful to me. Same for the open pvp, open pvp is open pvp, the differences between one MMO to another in the open pvp are trivial to me. Derelict Warzone, nice-to-have info for the hardcore pvp'ers, I preferred the flashpoint gameplay.

What I did learn, liked and am not disappointed about:

    - piles of classes, gameplay and combat footage and player reports

    - a very informative flashpoint dev walkthrough

    - a detailed video overview of the vast looking planets Hoth and Tatooine

    - learning that Alderaan is already 7,8 WoW zones large

    - seeing the Jedi Consular in another role than healing, and doing it well

    - seeing the amount of crowd control that all classes have, in a larger and more used frequency than experienced in other MMO's

    - examples of animation, graphics and gameplay/combat flow having improved significantly compared to last year: better looking, smoother, more fluid and dynamic and it's still improving

    - guild capital ships will be implemented (99% chance)

edit: as for open pvp, this is what has been stated

Q: Will players of one allegiance be able to visit the opposite allegiance’s planets? (asked by DarkLots)

A: There are certain planets within the galaxy that are only available to one allegiance or the other, but the majority of planets are open to the Republic and the Empire, allowing opportunities to - ahem - ‘encounter’ the other side should you so desire.

    2 words - WOW CLONE :(

There are far better combat systems out there now - would love to see DDO style combat instead but oh well :(

Cutscenes I'm sure most people will hit escape to get out of after the first time and people dont read quest dialogues as it is. Can you imagine standing around through the dialogs for 5 mins each time. let alone if the person whose turn it is to answer goes AFK.

But still hoping they will improve the combat speed and make it more interreting - hears hoping :)

People might not read quest dialogues, but find it more acceptable when it's cutscenes and dialogues, just like that some people don't like to read books but do like to watch movies.  Dialogues aren't 5 mins each time, that's a gross exaggeration, and if someone goes AFK then the other choices count if the timer has run down.

As for cutscenes and VO in quests being liked or not: there's an example that it works, AoC had them a lot in Tortage island, the starter island, and the large majority loved them and hated it when after Tortage the questing went back towards the same old textbased  'fetch this, kill that' questing.

    *facepalm*

... I believe it was clear that I complained about the fact that they did not take the oportunity to give us more info on Open PvP AT PAX...

Yeah... we know there's PvP servers and theres Open PvP... THAT is why I would like details about it, considering the Guild pre-register program requires making that choice.
