Totally rolling Norn warrior. Unless one of the two last proffessions totally blow me away (not likely). I'm suprised to see some many pick the Norn as their race. I really thought the Charr would have the highest votes. Oh well, the Norn are the best no matter whay :)

Speaking to the Snow Leopard Shaman will allow you to transform into a snow leopard, and you can reveal the hidden dredge by snarling at them and frightening them.

O.o I totally forgot that statement! Ty Diovidius ^^

So, that means that might be a lot of events where norns might disguise into a mob in order to get into their perimeters. I hope there will be a lot of events like that though.

For example, if the Mesmer really exists, there could be a Mesmer NPC that uses illusions in order for you to disguise and get into a mob perimeters/nest. I'm already imaginning the consequential events depending if the player is caught before doing his mission or if he's able of doing his mission without beeing noticed.

Hard question. I will make a human ranger after my GW1 main but right now am I rather interested in a Norn thief as well.

I am not sure about the sylvari since I havn't seen the revamp yet.

And there are 2 more classes as well to be revealed.

I wont play an Asura. I am pretty doubtful about the guardian. Besides that, anything can happen.

I'll play all 8. Which one will become my main is the big question. I'll have to play all of them before I can say that really. Charr Thief or Charr whatever the 3rd adventurer is, seems the most likely at the moment. Although Norn Ranger and Human Mesmer will be great fun as well.

It's a matter of using the shortbow without a pet.

I probably wont play any other profession besides thief.

In actuallity, I have to say necro and it is my personal opinion that anyone who says anything different (which is a lot of you) are going to be wondering how to kill that blasted necromancer in PvP because he just won't die (kind of like how touch rangers use to be in GW1)...ok, ok, I am given to understand that at PAX prime when I played the demo they were kind of OP and needed a balance (even back them).

honestly though, because the biggest reason for alts for me is PvP, I can really only imagine th eweaknesses and strengths of each class versus any other class.  I imagine/hope that skill will trump in terms of effectiveness in PvP and PvE alike.  If this is the case (and it seems so far to be likely) I will really have no reason to use class A because the damage is the highest or class B because they just don't die...It will be all up to personal preference...

The reason I really like the necromancer is because they seem to be good at utility, which means that they can do their job effectively while also helping out with other tasks.  The minions they summon are able to soak up aggro or deal decent DPS while the necro is busy laying down marks or blasting away at key elements of the enemy mobs.  Alternatively they can use their Minions is more strategic ways by activating their minion specific skills, which kill the minion.  I know every class will be like this but I like the necromancer (and the death shroud mechanic is the coolest necro/warlock caster type mechanic that I have ever seen.)

As for the race I am most likely to start out with, I would pick the Asura.  The primary reason for this is Rata Sum, but also because I like the story of the race and the whole feel that they have.  I really can't see myself sticking with one race though...more story is a good thing.

I used to TL;DR, but then I took a bullet point to the footnote.

Thief.  I am ADHD when it comes to MMO combat need something to keep myself occupied.  Thief looks like its very wackamole in its playstyle.

I will most likely play mostly the necro, like my main GW1 character.  Most likely a Norn, although if the Sylvari seem cool enough, I might try that as well.  Necro seems to be a good mix of devastation and helping allies so it makes it fun and interesting to play.  I will probably also try out the Ranger and see if that's as much fun as in GW1.  I might try the Thief as well although that one seems as difficult to make effective for me (like the Assassin - if it's done right, it's a very powerful profession, but I usually can't get it right!).  Don't have too much interest in the Guardian, or the Warrior as I've never been that great at melee (although the new warrior can use ranged weapons....hmmmm). And I'm kind of indifferent to the Elementalist (playing it - but they make great allies!).  I may change my mind once the new professions come out, but that's where I am right now.

Well... since I'm going to roll a ranger first, once I get you down into shroud, I set my pet on you then commence laying traps all over your corpse. My pet ends your shroud, you pop back over to your body, and boom.

Alternately, have a guardian use sanctuary over your body just as you are about to run out of shroud. The area becomes impassable and you die instead of going back to your corpse.

I'll go for Ranger: Pets, ranged weapons, traps, camo, movement-oriented melee moves... they've got it all.

But some of the later profs will be more challenging to play possibly? So maybe a mesmer and thief have some slick skills likely.

    Guardian looks fun too.

Tbh, a game where ALL professions/classes/careers appeal is unprecedented!

As I said in my earlier post, pets don't work. And without the pets the Thief may look like a more interesting option for you.

    Death to ze rangers!

It was stated in the IRC dev chat on GW2 guru that the pet AI was being worked on. What you see in the demo won't be representative of the final product. Your argument that pets don't work is invalid.

I think  most likely a Thief   Shadow stepping and the cluster shot using a shot-bow looks cool and different, for a thief that is :)

True lots of pics of bears dead... but I hope they sort that out in due time. Should not be hard to work that out?

Sylvari, Norn, Asura races interest me the most. But the other 2 are freakin awesome too.

Sylvaris potentially due to their racial sympathy choices.

I honestly am still blaming irresponsible pet owners.  There were people who played the whole demo and didn't let their pet die once.  Bad game players are bad. :)

    Oh, I didn't say they didn't have a REASON, but they're still bad.  :)

It's like how somebody playing chess for the first time is (Barring some miracle), incredibly bad.

They have a GREAT excuse to be bad, actually.

    They're still bad.  ;)

    Hopefully they get better!

    Mesmer in the 1st gw

    Mesmer in the 2nd gw

I don't even need a class preview to decide haha

Charr-war first then a Norn-guardian then human-thief and maybe a slyvari-nerco and who knows what else of the other classes that get added and the possible more classes from expan.

Played a warlock for years in WoW so its time for a melee class. Warrior first most likely, then when I get bored ele/necro alt.

    Human Guardian for me

Oh, and the people who played guardians during the demo sucked just as bad or worse than the people who failed at playing the thief (at least the ones who recorded video of guardian gameplay).
