Does anyone know of an mmorpg where everyone plays on the same, regardly of country or whatever. I heard eve is like this but the gamplay just sounds really boring?

Off the top of my head, I can think of a few:

    EVE

    Earthrise

    PlanetSide

Darkfall (has a US and EU server, I think)

Mortal Online (never played it, so not 100% sure)

    Vendetta Online

Ryzom (maybe, been a while since I played it)

    Fallen Earth

Guild Wars (heavily instanced, but technically only one server)

    Global Agenda

    Second Life

    Entropia Universe

Darkfall has two servers not one.

    A Tale in the Desert

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Champions Online (which now has a F2P option) and Star Trek Online, technically, each have one server, although you have myriad instances you select within each game (per zone).

To elaborate, you can play with anyone else who plays the game by choosing the same instance as your friend/acquaintance, just like Guild Wars.

Really? I want to play champions but the download is always failing, I could look into star trek.

Have you tried downloading the client from a third party site such as File Planet  for Champions Online? Star Trek has a demo, but it's fairly limited. If you can get your hands on a buddy pass, that allows you to play beyond the starter/tutorial zones.
